  1. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

I haven't actually ordered anything through Dreamshop since the dealers I work with aren't on there, but it's super useful for breakout diagrams and as a reference to find part numbers. $6540 is... well... yeah I can't see any way to justify charging that. I imagine prices vary due to extra...
  2. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

The one he's making is a single solid surface. The OEM CTR CF wing is a hollow part made from joining 2 or more sections together, hence the seam. Anybody who owns one can back me up on that. If you own one without a seam on the front and back edges I'm curious what manufacturer and week of...
  3. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

Yeah I worded that horribly while I was half asleep... Anyway, my guess is that the black gaps in the pictures (made worse by taking the pictures with a very bright raking light) are parts of an epoxy/shredded carbon structural layer. So yes, it's not a wrap over a fiberglass substrate, but it's...
  4. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

The QR code on the wing and the bag look identical to me, save for differences due to the printer used. I'm not sure how it could be "full carbon", the CF has to be wrapped around something to form it before sealing it in resin. Not to mention something has to hold the nuts in place. The seller...
  5. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

I believe the MSRP is $2295. The AllDiscountParts price was around $1900. Get it at your local dealer to avoid shipping risks, plus you can inspect it in front of them and reject it if it's damaged before paying. Or buy from ADP, save a few hundred bucks, but risk having to send it back because...
  6. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

OK, so after speaking with ADP this was indeed the one Honda sent them. Apparently they sell the OEM CF spoiler fairly often and all of them came from Honda recently; they weren't just sitting in the dealer's warehouse for years before being sold. It seems Honda themselves are still going...
  7. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

I think it's more likely this one particular production week had issues going by the number of people earlier in this thread who have no problems with theirs. For all I know both were built on the same day. ADP has been pretty open during the exchange process so I'm going to try calling and...
  8. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

I'm not quite ready to put the blame on all OEM parts, but there's definitely something up with this one production week. Plus, there's the new manufacturer. I'm going to call ADP and speak to the person who handled the exchange instead of just going by email and try to figure out what's going...
  9. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

"New" spoiler arrived. As usual, the box was crushed by UPS, but ADP did add extra packaging that did help... Except this one was manufactured the exact same week as the last one and still has unacceptable lazy defects in the weave. They said they would order a new one from Honda but it seems...
  10. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

New CF spoiler has been shipped out, supposedly after being inspected and with better packaging. Unfortunately still UPS so I'm sure they'll still find some way to wreck the box but hopefully the spoiler will be intact... 🤞
  11. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

I don't have the new one yet so I have no clue where that one will have come from. Could be Italy as well for all I know if Honda still has them in their warehouse. I'm about to reapply the zurich to the whole car anyway since it's showing signs that it needs to be reapplied (it lasted about 3...
  12. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

I'll post updates as I get them. Last I heard from ADP they ordered another one and it should arrive at their dealership on Tuesday. At this point neither do I. The box, labeling and tags all look authentic to me. I had a theory for bit that somebody bought one and decided to screw over the...
  13. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

Update: Alldiscountparts got back to me really quickly with a return shipping label. They're going to order a new spoiler from Honda and inspect it before sending. Hopefully that solves the problem, since the one I have seems to be a weird outlier.
  14. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

Ah, OK. I've been wanting to buy an S2000 and restore it for a while but don't have the garage space and money for that project quite yet.
  15. Build quality issues with OEM carbon fiber spoiler

Thanks for checking! I assume yours doesn't have those huge gaps in the weave on the rear-facing corners. The labels do seem to indicate that mine is legit, so maybe giuseppe really didn't get his espresso that morning 🤣
