Clutch hydraulics are completely stock right now, but a braided line does sound intriguing. I used to run a modified CMC on the FK8 and that helped a lot with shifting consistency, but the FL5 seems to have a redesigned CMC. I'll probably buy a modified slave from JSR to see if the CDV delete...
I haven't installed the calipers yet. Just waiting on brake lines from HEL. Highly recommend Paragon as I've used their products on my FK8, 718 GT4, and now the FL5. Seems like a no brainer since they're running a sale now!
Not yet, the valve cover just shipped out today! I think it's gonna...
Good to know we weren’t the only ones with this issue lol. A few other owners chimed in and said the screw on the driver said was normal for them too. Such a weird design not being symmetrical.
Parts are slowly starting to arrive. Today we got the Eventuri Carbon intake system, PRL charge pipes, and Acuity shifter cable bushings all installed. I wanted to get the shifter installed today but unfortunately ran out of time.
The Eventuri system is extremely impressive. I ran the FK8 kit...
That OCI seems a lot more frequent than my findings and what Blackstone recommended when I ran 300v. Though I don’t see any harm in changing your oil sooner other than a lighter wallet. The only time I recommend oil staying longer is for the initial fill on these Type Rs.
People get really neurotic about engine oil lol. I follow these principles:
1. Use a high quality fully synthetic oil. I will only use Motul 300v for tracked vehicles.
2. Follow manufacture recommended OCI. I think a good sweet spot is 5-7k miles on a full synthetic. Can verify oil performance...
I think coolant got hot a few times. Mid 230s. Looking back I’ll probably change my OCI to 5k miles. Back then I was really just trying to push how far the oil could go.
I had great results with 0w-20 300v and really didn’t have a reason to switch. Great wear numbers and no pressure issues. I had confidence in 300v in that it wouldn’t shear under high load. For my FL5 I’ll be trying out 5w-30 300v though. For research purposes lol
Everything has been documented here

And videos of the car being pushed on track
On my old FK8 I ran strictly 0w-20 Motul 300v. Car was FBO, tuned, and had upgraded cooling. No issues with track and did numerous UOAs that came back with great results. Datalogs also showed appropriate oil pressures. I probably wouldn't feel comfortable with a lower quality oil and 0w-20 would...
Hey everyone,
For those that don’t know me, my name is Michael. I picked up a 2025 FL5 a week ago and will be slowly building it up to be a high level dual duty car. The goal will be to set some really fast lap times, look good, and still have some comfort for the street. I have a bit of...
