Does anyone else think the alcantara is of higher quality in the FL5 than in the FK8? It seems to be much softer and premium feeling to me. Am I just imagining this?

You can definitely tell that the Golf R is going to be quicker off the line (6 speed. DSG is even quicker). The Golf has a more linear power delivery compared to the Type R. I haven’t really punched it too much on the FL5, but I have owned two FK8s in the past so I’m familiar with the engine...

The shifter in this car is on another level. Brings me back to my S2000 days! I was honestly quite shocked in the step-up in overall feel and interior quality when compared to the FK8. Makes sense why the MSRP increased quite a bit.

Does anyone know how easy this shipping wax crap comes off? Also, the best method to do it? (Told them not to wash or remove anything)

Haha not yet. I’m waiting for a call this morning. Alabama got 7 cars in the second allocation. The first one was delivered yesterday. I’m assuming the others will start following suit today!

Looks like some Southeast cars are now showing at dealer as of now. Of course mine is not. 😂
