  1. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

I've heard a few people mention that the Swift springs are actually a stiffer ride than the OEM springs. Has this been your experience as well?
  2. Vinyl Repair Recs

    The most frustrating part is that my initial damage was minor enough that I could have probably lived with it. The damage I caused trying to fix it is what is costing me here. I'm a real cautionary tale ;_;
  3. Vinyl Repair Recs

Updates: Took to the car into one of the mechanics. I've used him before, great guy but very old school and no nonsense. Full quote was $1600, about $850 of that being the cost of the dash itself. I asked him to confirm the part number for me so I can make sure I'm sourcing the same thing as...
  4. FK8 vs FL5 interchangeable brake pads?

Glad to hear this! I was looking at swapping my OEMs to Akebono's to cut down on brake dust but I was concerned they would decrease my rotor life and wouldn't bite as well for daily driving.
  5. What did you do to your FL5 today?

I ordered it from myacuraparts.com back in late November, so it definitely took a minute to get here. I drove in Sport mode for a bit and it felt similar to the standard Type R Comfort mode. I haven't tested R mode (I rarely use it) but my understanding is that the ITS ADS shifts everything...
  6. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Finally got my ITS ADS unit in yesterday and installed it last night. Drove around Atlanta a bit today (our roads are awful) and the difference was immediately noticeable. Way smoother, cushier ride. Ride quality isn't quite luxury, but it is massively better in the ITS Comfort mode. For...
  7. New Owner Observation / Stories

I'm always surprised when people say the Type R is overly stiff, but I'm coming from a Veloster N that was harsher in every possible way. That said, I'm still gonna try out and ITS ADS unit because I'd love a cushier ride option for long commutes. And the car DOES feel special. You own what...

No question the PS4S is amazing and if you wanna drop the money, they are the best choice to daily. IMO the V601 gets you 90% of the PS4S performance for around $300 less for a set, so it's viable if you want to save a little cash. Otherwise, absolutely go with the PS4S.
  9. Vinyl Repair Recs

Supposedly he has a lead on one from California that’ll take about a week to get to me. He wants me to bring the car in to look at first before ordering tho, understandably.
  10. Vinyl Repair Recs

Some more fun developments: I talked to Summit today and it looks like their labor is actually $600 but they are under the impression the necessary part is ~$800. Whomever their parts guy is said that 77100-T20-A01ZA isn't the correct part but that 77100-T39-A02ZA is. Doing some digging, it...
  11. Vinyl Repair Recs

Yep, exactly my feelings. That dash price seems low but I haven't seen anything else in the parts list that would make sense otherwise?
  12. Vinyl Repair Recs

Some interesting developments today. So far for the dashboard replacement I've received quotes as low as $600 for labor and as high as $1250. I followed up with the shop I first received a quote from (Summit, at $1400 total) and they looked into it and believe the part number I supplied is...

I'm running V601s as my daily and I think it's the best bang for buck at this tire size.
  14. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

I got my shipping notice today after months. Excited to get this thing installed and see how it feels.
  15. Vinyl Repair Recs

I was expecting $2000 or so, but I was also coming in with no clear idea of what the labor should cost so I'll trust you that it is a bit high. That quote was from Summit, I'm still waiting to hear back from some other places. If you have any ATL recs I should contact, feel free to send them my way.
  16. Vinyl Repair Recs

Got a quote back from a good Honda shop here in Atlanta for $1400 for both parts and labor which, honestly, is way cheaper than I expected. This is assuming that part 77100-T20-A01ZA is all I need to replace.
  17. Vinyl Repair Recs

I also think it’s priced quite a bit more than a new one? Unless we identified the wrong part earlier in this thread.
  18. Vinyl Repair Recs

I'm worried it'd be too intense to do myself but I'm gonna get a dealer quote and an indepent shop quote in the next week or so. I'll let you know what they say.
  19. Vinyl Repair Recs

I looked around and I think the dash part itself might be around $800? I'd imagine labor to replace it would be pretty expensive and I'd be concerned with how much other stuff would get messed up in the proces. I might still get it quoted so I can at least think about it down the road.
  20. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Did this today and it worked perfectly! I used two 4 inch zip ties and put the hubs on the part of the shifter near the dashboard. Initially I just did it because I needed a little bit more length but it also helped even out the Overland boot so I don't have any noticeable wrinkles to bother me...
