  1. RS-R Coilovers Installation on FL5 Type R

How are directness and very sharp (to me) reflexes of the steering responses? And does it bounce under hard cornering like the stock FL5 setup?
  2. Has the 2nd gear grind happened to your FL5 yet?

My FL5 has 6000k miles. Had second gear twice about 3500 miles ago. Very disappointing. Didn’t grind again for 2500 miles so I figured it was fine. Just did it again this morning but I’ve noticed one thing that’s consistent: it’s only happened when I’ve unwittingly pulled out in front of someone...
  3. Couple months in now with my FL5, with an ITS vs CTR ADS module comparison.

I’ve driven a GT3. The ‘FWD GT3’ is very obviously subjective but feels appropriate to me. It doesn’t actually feel *like* a GT3 but mimics, to me, some kind of approximation of what Porsche might make if they made a $40k FWD car.
  4. FL5 Overheated on Track

But if marginally slowing the car means zero cooling issues and more repeatable performance and increased durability for very little $…
  5. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

I would *love* that. I don’t want to buy coilovers just to fix an issue that shouldn’t have been there to begin with. Too expensive and shouldn’t be necessary on a car with the pedigree of Type Rs. I know I’m being repetitive here but I see the possibility of some confusion over terminology...
  6. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

As I’ve said on other posts, my only issue at all is the ridiculous bounce under hard cornering. Other than that, it’s perfect to me. Even Best Motoring didn’t like the bounce and found it faster in Comfort mode (which doesn’t reduce the ‘bounce). I *love* the ‘FWD GT3’ harsh but razor sharp...
  7. Multiple issues after installing oil cooler, intercooler, and radiator

There has to be more than issue. Trying to imagine what these issues could have in common. Is there a sensor they share, somehow?
  8. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

How about the ‘bounciness’ during very hard cornering? As others have said, I can stand the ‘harsh’ ride. I love it. It’s the pogo sticking on even slightly uneven pavement during at-the-limit handling that bothers me. It’s laughably bad in an otherwise perfect (to me) sports car.
  9. FL5 stock exhaust valve: Fuse pulled/always open - exterior sound clips

Okay, thank you for explanation. Mine is closed and center pipe noticeably less sooty than sides so I’ll assume I botched it when I tried to do this a few months ago.
  10. Next-gen Civic Type R will live on - even if as Hybrid or EV (says head engineer Hideki Kakinuma)

Maybe. But it also could be the other way around. I’ll be keeping my FL5 and FD Si either way. 😂
  11. Head to head comparison of “off the shelf” tunes for a stock fl5 coming soon. (UPDATED WITH INTERIM RESULTS)

Thank you for the data. Very helpful. I saw a video where the tune also included some use of the traction control that reduced wheel spin considerably (which would obviously alter driving experience strongly). Was this included in any of your testing?
  12. FL5 stock exhaust valve: Fuse pulled/always open - exterior sound clips

I’m not sure what the original instructions were—or if they even changed—but I think I pulled the fuse and maybe cycled ignition and put it back? It’s possible I did it wrong and it never worked to begin but I didn’t need to put it back because it was still plugged in. I feel like I’m being...
  13. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

For me, the ‘harsh’ ride is fine. Feels incredibly responsive. On edge in a good way. I love it. The issue is the bouncing under hard cornering. I don’t understand how other people don’t have an issue with this. It makes the car ridiculous to drive in those circumstances, IMHO. It’s terrible.
