Thank you all for the great inputs, I feel like I need to drive many more old manuals to really be able to build a picture of what is out there.
Just to clarify, "notchy" vs "buttery" on the way the gear engages or the traction behavior once you re-engage the clutch?
Manual 992 GT3 is up on...
Back to the pedals and shifter, I get a feeling that latest G80/82 and G87 have highly similar feel to that of the F87, I really want to test drive an S2000 now and the manual version of the 992 911 GT3 is king.
you just have to love Japanese engineering, not the interior plastics though...
Hey all! thanks for the comments, I did enjoy how we wildly went off topic to cover other M cars and the S/T 911 (pictures please, I can change the thread name if necessary).
Having digested most of your comments I will try to explain my sensations jumping in and out of the M2C and FL5 day to...
hi all,
There is a topic I have been wanting to post about. It is the MT feel for the FL5 compared to the F87 M2C. I love how smooth the FL5 is on traffic, as if you could not tell what it is capable of doing on track. The clutch release is linear and it is impossible to miss the spot where...
On a drive to Malaga I overtook a driver towing a track modded GT3 RS, he gave me a thumbs up on the side window of his van, petrol-head connection moment!
I had a traumatic experience in an underground parking and had to repair 2 last winter. The paint is anodized and requires special treatment, I found a shop that did a great work, but essentially do take them to a wheel repair shop.
hi all,
Picked up the car yesterday and to my surprise the dealer only used 500ml of 660 brake fluid. The technician who did the job was not there to be asked, I understood the car would need more after I cooked it at Monteblanco. The car has less than 500 ml in the system I imagine. Just an...
hi all,
Thanks for the recommendations! I have a quick question, are the Ferodo pads problematic on daily driving when the car is cold?
What pads does Honda spec series at the front? Done with the fluid now and after the next track day I will do pads, shims and lines.
hey guys! thanks a lot for chiming in and offering the help!
I have never had an issue on hot track days with the 2NH brakes on my M2C, they use Ferodo pads and I believe the OEM lines and I assumed the FL5 would come with similar tech. I have already bought 2 L of 660. If I use Motul now and...
hi all!
I had the chance to go on my first track day since I got the FL5 last November and wow is this car capable (clearly the driver was the weakest item in the value chain here!). I was easily faster than more powerful cars as tuned TT RS and AMG 45S and then on the long straight they would...
Hi man! I might have made a typo and it is actually TCU. (telematics control unit), it might be related to how the car communicates with the server when enabling the logR. I will capture a snapshot of the user manual and send it, here in Spain the type R gets a dedicated user manual.
Any luck...
hi man! Here is picture with the TCU connection I meant. I believe the manual specifies that connection must be established for the mobile sync of LogR2.0, but I might be wrong. Hope it helps!
This status display opens up by clicking on the top right of the screen.
When your infotainment unit starts you will see on the top right I believe the symbol of a little car with some wave like icon. I remember reading in the car user manual that to use logr with the app that had to be established. Hence why I went out of the garaje to set it up.
I will take a...
couple of checks, do you see TCU connection on the unit? I went to a supermarket parking outdoors to activate it. Have you done a factory reset of the head unit?
Fingers crossed that helps you!
