This is how misinformation gets spread. A simple noise regulation will requite an additional noise baffle within the exhaust to meet such a regulation. Honda is not going to lose millions of dollars in lost sales along with the extensive R&D and factory tooling for the FL5.
The alcantara dash and door panels are nice on this black package, but personally enjoy the red carpet and seats in the "regular" Type-Rs. For those that opt for that Black package, they better get some ceramic window tint on that windshield as I can see the UV rays just eating away at that...
Honda will just engineer another baffle within the exhaust. I'm still adamant that the FL5 is here to stay until all 11th gen Civics cease production just like the FK8 and its corresponding 10th gen Civics.
Honda will simply engineer another baffle within the exhaust to meet requirements. The Prelude is a complete turd compared to the FL5, but that's a whole different conversation.
Until I see an LE FL5 become available with the Phoenix Yellow paint, then I'll know its on the way out. This black edition with black seats, carpet and other misc. tidbits will not be a sendoff model. The FL5 will follow in the FK8 LE's footsteps for when production is coming to an end.
Dealers can claim all they want with whatever BS they spew out just to create a sense of urgency with customers. With the amount of money for R&D, engineering, marketing and production line tooling - the FL5 is here to stay within production for as long as the LX/Sport/Sport Touring 11th gen...
Not bad of an option. I got lucky and scored a never used Acura RL spare and jack kit from a wrecked RL. Best $45 I've ever spent at the pick a part. You have to use a hood prop rod to reach in the backseat opening and flip the switch to get the trunk open though as they are electonic and...
While doing some filming at a park, went ahead and brought my tape measure to get some more height readings. Here is where things stand today:
Front: 25 - 5/8"
Rear: 25 - 1/2"
Variance of 1/8"
(3) Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires (265/30/19) with 48 miles on them & (1) brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tire. Drove straight to tire shop to get swapped for some all seasons and the tire shop ruined one of the tires, hence the brand new tire. The other (3) only have 48 miles on them and...
This is a general picture, and since those have blue insulators, they would be old. Stock pictures frequently do not get updated. The concrete up to the fender dimensions I have listed above in an earlier post.
The spoon instructions gives a clear picture of what to trim off (the bottom most bulge). The ride is softer on comfort setting vs the FL5 OEM springs. I liked the way the OEM springs rode in comfort and now it rides even smoother. You sound very picky so these would be the springs for you vs...
Yes, the front wheels protrudes out slightly more to the edge of the fender as it compares to the rear. Off the top of my head it was 1/4" or even 3/8". Getting a staggered spacer fitment gives the car an "even poke amount" look.
