  2. SCCA Autocross Stock Class

Low 40s. +R mode with long press. I think agile handling assists may have caused the big slide. The understeer was completely my fault. Too hot then tried to brake hard while turning!
  3. 2025 Civic Type R - No Additions / Changes for 2025

As cool as it would be for our cars values if 2025 is the last model year, I definitely agree that it would be too short of a model run. I’d expect another 2 years.
  4. CIVICXI *NOVICE* Track Thread!

What can I expect going from novice to intermediate? What are the differences? I’ve only done Track Night in America, fastest car in novice by far - which is not saying much, plus the Type R is so easy to drive quickly. Thanks for this thread! My goal is to gain a lot more track experience...

  9. For occasional track use , which oil viscosity to use? Using oil data sheet for guidance

So for now, based on all the info so far…running OEM oil for 2-3 track days a year is just fine and won’t cause by engine to explode? That’s what I take away from all this.

First Track Day! So much fun! Thanks again for all the great info!
  12. *The FL5 Track Junkie Thread*

SCCA track nights send out novices by themselves after 1 paced session. We had a blast, but was surprised they have no instructors ride along, especially with people with 0 track experience.

Ok, rookie mistake in my part! Thanks for the tip!
  14. *The FL5 Track Junkie Thread*

Is it okay for the caliper nipples to leak a little after changing brake fluid? I noticed some evidence of leakage after tracking the car yesterday. I didn’t think too much since the pedal felt good, and the brake reservoir was at the max line. i believe i torqued front to 10 ft lb and rear...
  15. *The FL5 Track Junkie Thread*

No longer a track day virgin! Wow, what a blast, I am absolutely hooked! Ready to move to intermediate next time, didn’t have to point anyone by! Can’t believe how well the Type R performs out of the box. Hopefully have some pics and vids in the coming days.
  16. *The FL5 Track Junkie Thread*

Okay guys, headed to Nashville for my first trackday tomorrow! Changed out the brake fluid, removed the water diverter. Anything else? What PSI should I run. Can’t imagine I’ll notice a performance difference, but if there is a pressure range that helps keep the tires from wearing down super...
  17. What type of gas 87 or 91

So you drive it slow with 87 and low boost…again, makes my point, you bought the wrong car. Just trade it in for something that’s made for 87 that gets good gas mileage, like the new civic hybrid.
  18. Racing the FL5 Type R with all OEM spec parts on Laguna Seca

Brake vectoring is on until you pedal dance. Even +R with long hold won’t shut it off.
