I have some data comparisons between me and a GTI. The GTI has a DCT and a tune, and you could see in the data on the back straight where I lose .01 of a second between shifts in comparison to him. DCT's are no joke.
The order is LF, RF, RR, LR, then actuate the parking brake 5 times then re-bleed the rears RR then LR. The front calipers have two bleed screws the order is outer then inner.
Could just be a little bit of rust. The car was shipped from Japan, and likely saw rain or moisture at one point in time. It could also just be from water coming through the hood vent when it rains. Doesn't really look like oil or coolant to me.
You definitely want a helmet designed for automotive racing. Motorcycle helmets are designed to take one hit and be replaced after the fact. Car helmets are designed to take multiple hits. Zamp is making some quality helmets at a reasonable price.
I like the little private track deal that my buddy puts on a couple of times a year at NCCAR. It's unlimited track time, almost no rules, no run groups, and less than 200 bucks.
I tried it once, and the "work" portion was the part that surprised me. I think I got to go out maybe 2 or 3 times, so 6 minutes is about right for an ENTIRE day worth of getting sunburned in a hot parking lot staring at all the "cone killaaaaa" shirts walking by. The fastest car was an s2000...
I'm not even sure what class I would have to put myself in if I was to time trial....I'd probably end up in the same class as a bunch of GT3's and never be competitive because of my mods.
Castrol SRF is definitely the way to go. Those tires still have TONS of life left on them, but I'd have to agree with James. 200TW tires will hide mistakes, and slicks will hide even more mistakes. Since it's your first time out, I'd recommend just sticking with the factory tires. A first timer...
