As far as the transmission tickle or shock sensation I would guess it comes from the rmm and possibly bushings due to increased stiffness. Maybe just a sensation from the clutch or flywheel motion..

My 17 CTR had same leak it would weap from the black cover on the trans/clutch area and pool up around that bolt and on the shield.
I ended up selling the car so never officially diagnosed but my valve cover looked ok and no other visible leaks.
Maybe put die in oil so you can trace the leak...
My FK8 and 17/20 Si had same screws no issues but man the ones on the FL5 are no joke. Got em out and coated in anti seize will see if it helps. Pain in a$$$$!
