A few people have made them, I think primarily to make screwing in the driver easier but you can get some more depth too. A member sent me one but I haven’t used it since my current setup works.
Honestly, the box is so small I doubt you would get much out of a deeper driver. Either use the...
I'd be curious to compare the Recoil to an amped, quality, driver as the box is so small I wonder how much headroom is available. I'm sure someone who is more into this can run the #s through a calculator...
My impression of the Recoil is that it's good bang for the buck if you like bass, it...
My pleasure.
I've had a Recoil in a for a few weeks now and it's the one I'd recommend to someone who will not be adding amplification. Low price but noticeable improvement.
My 8yr old son the other week:
Son "Dad, what is this I keep hearing? It's like "wuubbaa wuubbaa"
Me "Bass, Son...
Got a new sub driver, it's the inexpensive Recoil 2vdcx2ohm off Amazon - I should have time after NYE to see how it sounds vs the Punch @ 2ohm.
I could use an adapter, if anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it!
try flipping the nut? I think when I was playing with one of my previous setups I had to do that to get better fitment. Or just go buy a thinner nut from the hardware store since you don't need the OEM one as you have a different collar anyway.
Good looking setup btw.
On the right side you need to remove the plastic piece the cover clips onto (there is a hidden screw under a small cover), the left side I assume is similar. From there you just gently pull it up. There are some videos on YT you can probably find that will help if you are unsure.
Bear in mind...
It is too quiet, but the solution shouldn't be pumped in terrible sound. There is a lot of distance from the stock exhaust volume to an Elantra N's, right?
Fake noise is like a fake exhaust tip. I unplugged mine and will never miss it.
On track? You've still got lights and a buzzer for redline if you need cues.
The hole was needed on the earliest versions of this. Current version is mostly plug & play, only the (new) rear panel needs some trimming to fit properly.
Some airflow is diverted but it's fairly negligible - or, IOW, here in Miami I'm not regretting it up front at all and my kid in back is...
Anyone do this yet? I like to park as tight as I can.
