  1. Mileage check-in.

7745 mi last fill up. 7/11/2024. Oil change at 1700 and 5700 (at home), and 7738 (free @ dealership). Manual fluid change at 7738. Tire rotation at 7738, 8mm rears to front, 7mm fronts to rears. Brake pads with 7mm front, 8mm rear. Return-to-office orders added a lot of miles last month.
  2. What did you do to your FL5 today?

A rock decided to take a nice chip out of the front edge of my spoiler. It's apparently white plastic underneath. So, that's nice. Guess it could be a worse part of of the car, but a white spot in the middle of a black spoiler is so damn visible... 😑
  3. Cooling mods for the average Joe

I updated my original post to correct my flow statement. I don't know how moving the hot part of the radiator behind the intercooler is supposed to improve performance. Maybe it helps soak additional heat and dissipate it better at the top. Does the radiator become more or less able to absorb...
  4. The Tuned 11th gen Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

  5. Cooling mods for the average Joe

Does anyone run the reverse-flow radiator hoses so the hot water goes into the top bottom of the radiator, not the bottom top, which is directly behind the intercooler? This is supposed to improve radiator and intercooler performance...
  6. Texas Spotted Thread

BB FL5 at New Hope and 183A in Cedar Park. Can't quite make out the plates. But I think I've seen this one a few times.
  7. Oklahoma FL5 Type R Hondata FlashPro Mini

Is it possible to see a picture of this connected to a laptop with a screen showing that it is not paired to an ECU?
  8. CEES Exhaust - Custom fab titanium exhaust

It looks like some company branded these in the US. Some clips are on the posting. I still haven't installed mine. It's been 90 fricken degrees on the weekends still. It sounds good when warm, but the cold startup sounds awful...
  9. Front Strut Bar

It makes a difference, but it will be a very personal experience. I like the feel—it slightly increases the steering wheel feedback and rigidity, and the dampening effect increases by sharing the load across the front struts. It feels more structurally rigid but softer at the same time. My full...
  10. Front Strut Bar

    Sirimoto CF.
  11. SiroMoto Phase 2 Carbon Fiber strut bar installation experience on FL5

Edit, driving update: as expected, there is not a lot of impact on the stiffness; the Type R is already a reinforced square. However, it did "soften" the front end while also making it feel more square. Not sure that makes sense. It balances the dampening across the front while making the front...
  12. The Ultimate Strut Bar for your 11th Gen Civic

Bar has arrived. I'll install it after dark, it's 100° in my garage right now. 🥵
  13. Shifter mods... sell me on the component upgrades

I'm seeking specific info on the components that comprise the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Acuity (or PRL or other) shifter upgrades. I'm primarily interested in the upgraded spring for reduced wobble; what do I get out of the different pieces? Are the shifter link bushings really worth pulling out...
  14. TSP x PRL: SRS Front & Rear Collar Kits

    Necessary? No. Highly recommended? Yes.
  15. TSP x PRL: SRS Front & Rear Collar Kits

Round Rock and Leander Honda have a couple of technicians who will install aftermarket stuff, but they're selective, apparently. I'm sure they'd make me sign a waiver if I was looking to have cams replaced, and they legally wouldn't be allowed to install a catless downpipe, but they'll do...
  16. TSP x PRL: SRS Front & Rear Collar Kits

I attempted to have the local Honda dealership install the PRL collars today. One of their two capable mechanics straight up declined the work, and the other was basing their time on the Honda Network's suggested rate for the removal of the front subframe, which was 2.9 hours, not including the...
  17. Mileage check-in.

36 days of ownership, parked today at 999mi. And more than 6 tanks of gas. That "Range" figure is awful cute, though. Recently unplugged the battery, so the computer still thinks it's a regular Civic. 😂
