The pedal dance will allow you to turn off traction and VSA outside of +R mode. I have noticed that braking feels different in an autocross between holding the traction-off button for 10 seconds in +R and doing the pedal dance while using Individual. Not sure if there was a difference.

Related note to all of this. If the suspension blocks were missed, there is a good chance your tires are still inflated at 54 PSI for shipping purposes (mine were, but I forgot to post about that back in December).
