I have 275/35 Advan 601s on god spec and no rubbing at all. Little bit of poke on the front but that is being fixed with a camber adjustment next week.
I know it’s not for everyone but I’ve always liked tyre stickers. If anyone has them on their FL5 I thought I’d create a space to share as I couldn’t find an existing thread.
Just sharing photos of the final fitment. Thanks to all for the advice.
Tiny bit of poke at the front from the beefy sidewall of the 601s. A slightly narrower 275 would probably be perfect. Doesn’t seem to bad to me but let me know if I should be worried as it’s my first step into aftermarket...
Finally got my new wheels on. TE37 Saga S Plus in matte black (18x10 +40 in face 4). Really happy with the fitment on stock suspension and Advan 601 tyres (275/35/18). Shout out to Garage IMMI for looking after me.
So I just got a wheel alignment from a reputable place. Look how much the toe was out just 2 months after the steering rack recall and supposed dealer alignment. No way they did an alignment and this explains the vibration.
Thanks so much. Just got my Saga S Plus wheels in matte black and about to put Advan 601s on (275/35/18). Made sure to PPF my Rays stickers and then ceramic coat. Such a good tip.
Thanks. I’ve gone for the V601 as well in 275/35/18. My matte black saga s plus wheels just arrived in country (18x9.5 +40) so only days to wait now.
Thanks for all the help. Based on the collective experience here and what I’ve read I’m hoping there will be no rubbing or poke.
I get it when the weather is bad but in good weather it’s no contest. I had a weekend driving some epic roads with friends, one of whom had a GR Corolla. We both agreed the FL5 is the better car. Feels much more dialled in on a good road. When I was in his car I just wanted to get back in the...
Nice. With roads seemingly getting worse in most countries this is a good call. About to fix my 10+ stone chips from a combo of crappy chipseal roads and butter soft Honda paint.
A few motoring journalists have said this and I get what they mean. It’s an analogue, visceral car to drive. Dialled in steering, lots of feedback and more about engagement than outright pace.
Really easy. There’s a couple of videos on YouTube that will help you. Biggest pain for me was getting one from the US to Australia. Acura won’t post outside of the US.
Hi all. I’m looking for a dash cam that I can stick in my FL5 when it’s parked and will alert me if someone is trying to break in. Ideally I’d like something removable and not wired into the car. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.
Welcome. I honestly love this car. It really is the GT3 of hot hatches. Enjoy.
For the record, I never planned on modding mine but already obsessed with making it my own. I’d recommend getting the ITS ADS unit. Best money I ever spent.
Interesting. I thought it was in my head but I'm also having issues after the recall. It feels like the toe is out or something. I get a bit of twichyness and vibration but it's intermittent so hard to nail down.
