Just curious - since you mention wanting to stick with a 3" diameter, what diameter is this one? It doesn't seem like there's much information out there (other than the tip diameter).
I was reviewing my tires in the garage and thought I'd share - seems like I'm moving in a good direction towards front tire life.
Set 1 - 8 Sessions on the front at CMP, ~-3.9° camber, ~375whp/tq (obviously uneven wear and all the cords showing on the inside shoulder):
Set 2 - 8 sessions on...
Thanks! Yep, first time, I've been missing out!
I definitely don't think it's the way to go on a RWD car as they can get super tail happy that way, but with suspension mods it is common to drop the rear bar off for better power delivery, and it also helps avoid inside wheel spin issues on...
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!! I actually really enjoyed it. It was my first time driving here even though I lived in NE Ohio for 30yrs as I always heard how diabolical it was in wet conditions and didn't see the appeal (although it was repaved finally a few years ago), but I have a lot more track...
Day 2 (Saturday) Update: 0% change of rain apparently meant rain from 730a to around 10a, so the morning session was trashed again. The 2nd session had an issue with traffic impacting multiple cars (me and the Elantra got held up hard), but I managed to sneak a good lap in towards the end of...
Thanks! I tried both but I can't really put power down well in 3rd coming over the crest in madness or into thunder valley and this saves 2 shifts so I figured I'd try it and although I'm not sure it was faster it didn't seem slower, and it's simpler.
If I had less power it would be 3rd for sure.
Thanks! That didn't even feel like a save though - sometimes the car actually rotates a little. I've definitely had much bigger actual saves ?.
In other news, 0% chance of rain here apparently means 2hrs of light rain so we started soggy again - we'll see how it goes in the later sessions...
For anyone interested, I finished day 1 at GL Mid-Ohio, and the day ended up going much better than it started. I was put in Group B (2nd fastest out of 5), which I thought might be ambitious as I've never been here, but it ultimately was horrible luck as it was dry for E, D, and C, and B (me)...
Is the pulling consistently one way (I know you said right, but is it pulling right in one corner or every corner), or does it just move around during braking?
I have to counter with the steering under braking frequently with combined loading and the rear getting light, but I do want the car to...
My current E30 tune (and my 93oct tune from last year) runs ~2-3psi less boost than factory (but makes way more power), so that could help keep as well with keeping things a bit cooler. There are definitely a lot of calculated and actual monitors in the background (as I've learned through the...
That's interesting - my coolant actual and oil calculated has been in the same range but I haven't observed power being pulled *yet* (and honestly it seemed like oil calculated wasn't being used for anything), but it also could be related to my tune vs. the factory tune.
Nice Lap! Just FYI - you probably already know from the One Lap experience but the oil temp gauge is just a calc, not a sensor. Given you are basically stock (not sure if you are still on the OE weight oil), it's probably not far off, but coolant temps may be a better thing to watch...
