I fully get what you're saying, certainly a risk, not at all without merrit... look how many luxury and sports cars recently have gone fully auto with no manual option. However I will counter that idea with... "nobody buys manuals... we'll just cancel the Si all together, the sport trim will be...
I won't mention the spoiler as I did in another thread.
But this appears as though it could be the hatchback Si model. The exposed exhaust, the larger wheels with low profile tires. It could just be a sport trim, but here's hoping it could be an Si.
Not sure that's a spoiler and not just more of the duck tail lip that is moulded into the hatch (the sedan also has this lip). It just seems more pronounced because of the full width light setup of the hatch (which isn't actually a full width taillight, the center portion is the third break...
I'll admit the tamer interior doesn't really fit the image of the Type R... or even an Si for that matter. However, such a simple design lends itself to added sporty appointments (sport seats, flat bottom steering wheel, honda's typical red interior appointments, etc). So it'll be interesting to...
I hope. So far only the CTR has been seen with a spoiler. Hopefully the Si/Sport will get some kind of spoiler(s) to help separate them from the rest of the trim lineup... or at the very least, offer some accessory spoilers that can be added (I had the wing spoiler added to my last 2 10th gen...
Agree. I actually feel like the interior render (and the 3D patent renderings basically confirming it) that the interior of the new civic is going to be a high point for the new civic (I'm still waiting to be totally sold on the exterior). If honda does this more simplified and streamlined...
the current hatch has 2 spoilers.... a roof spoiler and a wing spoiler mounted between the tail lights. It just comes with them from the factory. It’s not exactly like the spoilers for the coupe/sedan but hatches don’t usually have typical wing spoilers like that.
This new gen hatch’s rear end...
I don't think Honda will discontinue the manual for the Si... they'll just add an auto option, like most of its competition. I agree losing the manual totally would be a BAD move on their part for the Si. But if we see an automatic Si, it'll be sitting with standard manual Si's and the auto will...
I don't disagree with you on this. I don't mind my CVT in my civic. It pairs very well to the 1.5T in part because it's so good at holding rpms in the optimal range. With no lag between gear shifts, it helps make the civic as quick (for an economy car) as it is. And while I know honda loves...
Um, maybe a $10k price difference? Maybe the same reason they made an Si coupe and Sedan? Someone in the market for an affordable sporty car but wants more utility than a sedan with a trunk? Not even mentioning past Si models being hatches. There's any number of reasons for Honda to offer both...
Everyone griped about the rims of the 10th gen civic when it was first released, but IMO, they got objectively worse looking after the mid model refresh, but I'm a bigger fan of the machined finish with black accents than I am of the mostly painted look on most of the lineup after the refresh. I...
I totally get Honda wanting to streamline the civic a bit, given the general feedback on the 10th gen. But as a designer, there's a difference between understated and boring and it can be a fine line to tread. (Mazda probably does simple, clean and understated best). Again, I'll wait to reserve...
My big issue with the 11th gen so far is I just don't feel any desire for it (unlike the 10th gen). I'm excited for the possible new tech, features, performance... but the sedan, while not horrible... for me personally is too mainstream. Civic sedans are EVERYWHERE. But the 11th gen hatch...
Si hatch seems likely given the death of the coupe AND production moving to north america. That would be my first pick as well, assuming I can get past the styling (maybe the Si trim will help with that)
I think it might actually happen. I would say the acura sourced DCT is probably the best bet, as we could see similar powertrain arrangement in the next acura compact sedan as well. I wouldn't totally rule out the 10 speed auto from the accord either, but that seems less likely considering...
Definitely better than the patent images. It might even be a touch shorter than the sedan (it should be, hatches are usually shorter than sedan counterparts). But I still feel like there is something missing from the back... i.e. spoiler(s). The overall look of that rear would be so much better...
Based on the past reveals (8th, 9th, and 10th gens... ) typically the concept/prototype is representative most closely to the Si models. If I had to take a guess... I would say the 11th gen prototype is probably closest to the Si or Sport trims (it lacks the spoiler we saw on what we assume were...
I'm not sure about your dealership but typically you can extend a lease up to a year.... my dealerships even allow a month to month extension (up to a year). So if the 6 months isn't quite enough time, maybe you could add an extra month or two if needed.
From what I've heard, the final production version(s) of the new civic will be revealed early spring. As for on-sale date, most likely to follow a few weeks from that point (mid to late spring if I had to guess). But there's no concrete timeline currently. We also don't know if/how release will...
True. I have a feeling that the finished product won't even be real integrated exhaust outlets. It'll be like the sport trim accord that just has chrome trimmed holes in the rear bumper that the exhaust outlets sit behind. And most likely the Si/Sport trims will be the only ones with these, the...
