  1. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

So you're telling me car makes money for the company but they don't want to keep making a car that they already spent hundreds of millions on EPA federalizing. "Extrapolating from the Accord's 267,567 units sold in 2019, only around 2500โ€“5000 of those were sold with stick-shiftsโ€”apparently not...
  2. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

exactly there is no profit, no business case. Its a 4door family car not a halo super car to bring people in to the show room. There is a reason why they continue to make the Miata in manual, they just sell more of them. Also more buyers opt for the manuals in the Golf R and 911 GT3 in the US...
  3. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

exactly, if there was profit to be made they will make it. Thats how the market works, if something sells and makes money they will make more of it like SUV's. Reality is less and less people want manuals in this congestested society.
  4. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

They'd still offer it if sold. Reality is that market for a family sedan with manuals really doesn't exist.
  5. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

its about 50% more efficient using a 5nm process.
  6. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

Like I said, living off the reputation. Iphone might look similar but the new model with the a15 bionic chip is nearly 7 times more powerful than the a9 that came out 5 years ago.
  7. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

Cars now are alot like phones. People expect upgrades. Youโ€™d be pissed too if Apple kept using the same old processor every year. Honda and Toyota think that they can live off their reputation.
  8. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

thing is Si has pretty much stayed 200hp for nearly 15 years. Sure it has more torque but it hasn't really gotten much quicker. To put that in perspective, the 2006 SI that was released before the first iphone is faster than the new one. I'm sure the demographic that buys these would gladly...
  9. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

After watching the reviews of the new Porsches I'd much rather have 4 wheel steering over awd.
  10. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

Same with the Type R. Euro models have them.
  11. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

ditto. Looked at a Veloster N and didn't come with butt warmers and went with a GTI even though the N was more fun to drive. Also appalling the Type R doesn't get heated seats here.
  12. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

True. Last honda I owned was a 2008 TSX which was a amazing car. Before that it was the EM Civic Si. Honda just hasn't made a car that was compelling till the 11th gen Type R.
  13. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

no the 11th gen is a vastly better car than the 10, inside and out. 11th Gen civic is a disappointment. Bean counting? have you seen and sat in a 11`th? Last gen build quality doesn't even compare. Styling is subjective but I''ll take restrained over overstyled and most consider pretty ugly.
  14. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

Rev hang is due to emissions has no correlation with rev match. When you redline a new civic and upshift the revs will hang to allow excess fuel to be burnt.
  15. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

200hp is damn pitiful in 2022 in a pseudo performance car. It really wouldn't have made the si cost more by dropping the 2.0t from the accord.
  16. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

hopefully its under 25k because otherwise its unacceptable. For nearly 30k, all those plus a 2L turbo from the accord is what should've been included.
  17. 2022 Honda Civic Si World Debut! ๐ŸŒŽ

Expected the civic to have the HPD kit.
