  1. Official 2023 Civic Type R (FL5) U.S. Specifications Released! 315 hp / 310 lb-ft!

For people in snow country who plan to drive their cars year-round, I think that the GR Corolla makes perfect sense and is probably the better choice. That doesn't describe me though.
  2. Official 2023 Civic Type R (FL5) U.S. Specifications Released! 315 hp / 310 lb-ft!

And to think... this conversation is occurring in the thread where we learned what the power figures are. :D :p
  3. JDM FL5 Civic Type R Owner's Manual; Rev Match OFF+ specified Oil/Fluid capacity

Lower mass, yes, but not unsprung. The wing is, after all, supported by the springs.
  4. Official 2023 Civic Type R (FL5) U.S. Specifications Released! 315 hp / 310 lb-ft!

The Circuit is about $4K more than I was expecting. Wow.
  5. Type R Record at the Ring?

Nurburgring times are done with a rolling start, too. Cars that are capable of crossing the start line at a higher speed aren’t penalized for it. That’s kind of the whole point; the car is faster.
  6. Backup plans - what's yours?

Same. This will only be my second new car ever. My first was my FG2 Civic Si way back in 2008! I sold that back to Honda after two years for lack of enthusiasm; a great drivetrain saddled by an ordinary car.
  7. Official 2023 Civic Type R (FL5) U.S. Specifications Released! 315 hp / 310 lb-ft!

Assuming the octane rating is directly comparable, you won't find anything that high in the United States. I believe 93 octane is now the highest octane available (91 in California, which has 40 million people). When I was a kid we had 96 octane gas, but those days are long gone.
  8. Backup plans - what's yours?

If I'm reading correctly, Z4 coupe, Gen 3 Toyota MR2, Gen 4 Miata hardtop, and a Fiat 500 Abarth? A collection after my own heart.
  9. The FL5 Dealer ADM Markup Thread

A bank loan is the same as cash to a dealer. It makes no difference to them whether the money is coming out of your account or your bank’s.
  10. Official 2023 Civic Type R (FL5) U.S. Specifications Released! 315 hp / 310 lb-ft!

In top end, no, but it likely still wouldn’t make as much torque as an L15 turbo.
  11. Official 2023 Civic Type R (FL5) U.S. Specifications Released! 315 hp / 310 lb-ft!

If it was up to me, this car would have a factory 9,000rpm K24 with individual throttle bodies (like an old BMW M engine). Alas, those days are gone forever, so I'll begrudgingly take the turbo 2.0L.
  12. Drift King and the 2023 Civic Type R

Will likely be popping up on CarPrime (YouTube) soon.
  13. Backup plans - what's yours?

Agreed. And no fender flares either.
  14. 2023+ (FL5) Type R bolt pattern

I'm planning on mounting 19x9.5 +45 Titan-7s, so this is great news. The fit of that 18x9.5 Volk looks perfect.
  15. Backup plans - what's yours?

@Kyofu - I saw a GR86 Premium the other day (the one with the ducktail and 18" wheels) for (I believe) the first time and it looked fantastic. Much more aggressive in person than in photos. The ducktail is mandatory; it looks so good.
