  1. 2023 Civic Type R Waitlist / Deposit / Reservations List - Check in here!

Is there a tune for 92 AKI? I get gas from Costco and it'd suck a little bit to have to change up the routine :/
  2. Backup plans - what's yours?

No, I'd just buy a Golf. Which I also wouldn't buy. S2000, but I'd honestly pick an MR2 Spyder and either swap it if you want more power or just OEM+ if you want a cruiser. Aside from the stock seats, I find it much nicer to live with. Being a lot cheaper helps too, but it depends on what you're...
  3. Cutaway of the mysterious intake box

The pan could be plastic or something. Everything on the Spyder is steel anyway.
  4. 2023 Civic Type R Waitlist / Deposit / Reservations List - Check in here!

If boarding my pets wasn't such a pain, I'd go on road trips more. A big west coast CTR cruise sounds pretty sweet.
  5. Backup plans - what's yours?

AMG GT R is definitely my pick. Looks, sounds, and feels the wildest of the list. I wonder how many other people are in this boat or will be soon: got so tired of waiting for FL5 and worrying about ADMs that they just jumped ship to a competing product.
  6. The FL5 Dealer ADM Markup Thread

This dead horse has been beat so hard, it's been to heaven, hell, purgatory, and back to life again.
  7. vs GR Corolla

Seems like Toyota's style post 2000. Always leave something on the table, usually something really obvious.
  8. Cutaway of the mysterious intake box

Would it have been much worse to mount a "drip pan" under the scoop on the hood? A la MR2 Spyder, etc.
  9. Looks like US Civic Type R FL5 versions are on their way to shipping...

I've seen a couple up here. (Maybe it was the same one twice.) Absolutely gorgeous, and definitely would suit the FL5.
  10. 2023 Civic Type R Waitlist / Deposit / Reservations List - Check in here!

With how sweaty my hands are, I'd probably have to do the same every two to three days. Maybe two to three hours. I'm so glad we're getting leather instead. Even if not, I'd probably just throw on a cover.
  11. Backup plans - what's yours?

It looks like a cardboard body kit you'd see on some troll at Stancewars every year.
  12. Japanese Market Info: 2023 Civic Type R Ordering, Production Volume, Deliveries

What are you expecting to see from a Japanese review that hasn't been shown yet? It's not going to be entirely the same car as the export model we'll receive anyway. Brief summary seems to be that an FL5 will be auctioned in Japan, even though purchase contracts stipulate that owners will not...
  13. 2023 Civic Type R Waitlist / Deposit / Reservations List - Check in here!

Honda imports a lot of parts and materials, so the cost to build increases as the yen weakens as well. The net effect on US pricing is probably not that huge. FWIW it looks like the same demo unit that people have been spotting for the last month or so. Nothing has been connected to any of the...
  14. Expect less FL5’s

Yes... I said it was made in the US. And?
  15. Expect less FL5’s

ITS is made in the US. Hasn't been officially announced yet, so who knows?
  16. vs GR Corolla

The other hard part is aftersales service. The Hyundai dealers I've visited in the area aren't super fun to talk to, and it seems crappy sales/service experience is pretty common across the board.
  17. FL5 Type R is last one?

The so-called induced demand for EVs is laughably wasteful as well. Just look at the EV graveyards in China.
  18. FL5 Type R is last one?

Sure, has nothing to do with the fact that infrastructure and equipment for said explosion was much cheaper and had much lighter immediate effects on other infrastructure systems. Software and hardware are totally the same thing, right?
  19. FL5 Type R is last one?

I recommend reading more about how specific recycling processes work. The question of energy required isn't of "if," but is actually of "how much," and the answer is usually "very, very high." The chemistry is cool though. Have you seen NileRed's demonstrations?
  20. Backup plans - what's yours?

Not enough of a hit to drop prices, if that's what you mean (similar story here in PNW). The properties already sold are still gone. Some pressure on the supply has eased, but at the same time, demand for property from other factors hasn't, and it's not like supply was able to expand with any...
