They did say the manufacturers recommendation is to wait 90 days for any paintwork. However so long as the car is baked they said it is good to be PPFed. I also confirmed with 2 body shop experts that do not work for Honda and they agreed that it would be ok. And it was. Car looks good no issues
Well I guess I'll never know lol.
I'm chalking it up to paint prep issues whether it be from factory, shipping, dealer. Doesn't matter to me. Honda fixed it thats all I really cared about.
I did inquire regarding something od that possibllility and the dealer I bought the car from said if there was any kind of shipping related damage they would have told me at purchase. There was nothing of that regard.
Picking up the car from my detailer tomorrow after finally getting this whole thing sorted out. Will post pics as soon as I get it!
He sent me a text today also telling me there were no issues installing the PPF on the bumper.
Obviously I still don't believe there is any hard guaranteed way...
Hey all, will continue to provide updates on the car.
I know this is a car forum, but as a first time dad and on a forum about the Type R, I now share a new love and wanted to show him off. I'm proud and excited to be a parent and love him more than the car already (maybe...lol) jk.
Anyway, I...
2 people have now said that the part on the bumper looked like a finger print. Truthfully, I think it was a poorly prepped bumper. Will probably never know for 100% sure but they did all the other surfaces just fine.
Hopefully we get it back and fully completed by tuesday/Wednesday
Quick update: Car picked up from the dealership. Bumper waa repainted and looks good.
Dropped it back off at the detailer and should be done next Monday-Wednesday.
Wife's getting induced tonight so shouldn't have any concerns thinking about it this weekend!
Absolutely, my hope is with a lot of the dealers I know still have my # for round 2 will reach out to me so I can help people like yourself out. But one things for sure, some of these dealers are reaching for the starts for that extra dollar 😞.
Just hang in there bud you'll get one for sure.
I'm not sure if it's like this for all models, but if you hold down a button to switch it from adaptive mode to just normal. It is like this on my CRV
Maybe look into that potential solution
@atlcivic contacted them a while ago but I don't think he committed. AFAIK I didn't give out any pointers but congrats to whoever did because 3k over no accessories was the best deal I personally had discussed with a dealer.
Keep trying buddy if I get any hits I'll reach out to you
Gurley Leep honda was a good dealer. Only 3k Markup, super glad I didn't stick with them though and got the blue. Black was my last choice (which I couldn't have swallowed buying).
Good luck to all the peeps for round 2
After watching the video I dont really see a clip they are referring to. It honestly looks like they just had the boot off and picked that location to more easily force the snap ring down without damaging the visible part.
I can assure you There is no clip that will disconnect the snap ring...
