AspecR, just wanted to say thanks for all your postings. It helped me secure a boost blue. Per the dealer it has an ETA of 2/12 to 2/16. Probably more like end of the month? Just wondering your opinion. Thanks in advance and thanks for your contribution to the forum. If your ever around Chicago...
This is also the first batch. There will always be some hype, but can't hurt to let it die down a little. Even 5k adm is most likely a year of payments. If you can, hold strong and be patient, or yolo it. I'm just a dummy in the internet lol.
Agree to disagree. I'm a huge fan of the type R and plan to get one. It is not worth more than 45k. At the end of the day that's a choice everyone has to make, but I'd love to invite you ADM boys and girls to my garage sale this spring.
That's fair. I suppose I'm just trying to say to me it is not worth 10k over sticker. Not knocking anyone that pays over, it's their money. But no amount of mental gymnastics makes a 10k markup make sense to me.
I'm happy for you. Truly. it's an awesome car. But I just can't stomach 54+ for a car that is only worth 44. If you've got money to burn why not. I'm sure it will hold it's value well. But upside down 10+ in the first year is not a position I'm willing to be in. Hope I see you fly by in your...
Honda on grand In Elmhurst IL must be getting their type r in soon. They notified me first come first serve and a modest adm of 10k, red. Lol told them they deserve to be out of business.
I know this nonsense has cooled me down. I still want a type R, but the timeline keeps getting pushed back. The price and value make me want to wait, but spending an extra 17k for a bare bones blackwing is tempting.
That's 100% it. Love the value and everything the R has to offer but I put my deposit down almost a year ago and the uncertainty/waiting sucks. I had to call 12 dealers and deal with wait-list nonsense. The mark up game is annoying. Whereas the first local Cadillac dealer called me back, asked...
Dang I'm in a somewhat similar position maybe you guys can help sway me one way or the other. I'm testing a blackwing on Saturday. Found an MSRP dealer that is confident they can get me my barebones manual spec I'd want in a couple of months. So do I jump ship?
Option 1- type r at MSRP dealer...
Maybe I am biased because I am already set on getting it, but I think it's damn near perfect. I loved the fk8 but it was a little busy and a bit racier looking than I liked. I think this is a perfect middle. Cooler and more stylized than a golf R, but not as flashy as the fk8. I will 100% drive...
Been dreaming of a type R for the last 4 years, especially after feeling underwhelmed with the new wrx reveal. I called about 10 dealerships around the Chicagoland area. Half said they wouldn't take reservations and didn't know if or when they would get a ctr. The rest said they didn't know when...
