Looks great! Thinking of doing the same. I drive from CT to NY all the time and twice I struck a pothole so hard that I thought I completely cracked the front rim in half.
Well I can't think of another car that offers a manual transmission, turbo, similar engine characteristics (low torque down at lower rpms, surges in the middle of the rev range, and tapers up top), high seating position, AWD, wide body, great brakes, a traditional handbrake, budget car interior...
I wish Mitsubishi kept up with the Lancer Evolution. I owned an Evo 8 and what a great car! I haven't driven a GR Corolla but it seems somewhat like a spiritual successor.
IMHO, I wouldn't mess with the mounting hardware. The FL5 has been designed and crash tested to withstand high G impacts using OEM bolts and nuts. You risk having those pieces fail during a critical incident. Should someone get hurt because of aftermarket hardware, you leave yourself open to...

I love the look of the stock knob, but once you feel the temperature difference in the dead of winter and the middle of summer you will appreciate the leather knob.
Being that I’m still breaking the car in, I wanted to see how much I could stretch a gallon. Drove from Flushing Ny to New Haven CT (about 60 miles) and averaged 55-65 mph depending on traffic and hills. I will never drive this way after break-in but thought it was interesting.
