Personally, Im not a fan of anything thats stick on. Even OEM. It just reminds me of my early days of buying silver trim stick on pieces for my civic (OEM). I would rather have the actual piece be carbon fiber.
Congratz but I realize Im more than happy to wait this shit out. MSRP is already bad enough but $60k would have me having buyers remorse and ruin the whole thing.
I cant tell if OP made this thread in jest but lot of replies from both sides are embarrasing. Everyone trying to justify their purchases. We are fucking lucky (not price wise) that we get TWO Honda performance cars. Before the FK8, Honda fans in the US were in a drought.
Thanks for the comparison. I had a ITR and S2k and would have had no issues DD them. I dont care about comfort or amenities. Hell, I still feel weird using my back up cam. But teh CTR as a daily would have me worrying about theft (jsut like the ITR), bolsters on the seat getting destroyed...
If I end up with one, it will be a DD. No way I can justify a 4 door hatchback as just a weekend or track car. Im done with owning multiple cars after keeping a ITR and S2k mint and only driving them occasionally.
This car will be driven hard and often. Its a car not an investment.
Did people really think a civic, much less a Type-R, would have no road noise? Its already quite insulated compared to past Honda cars. Try a S2k or the ITR. The road noise in combination with the engine and music is all part of the experience.
I will take whichever ends up being cheaper. If I get the CTR, I'll feel slightly more content because of my past ownership of a ITR, but more stress because it will be a DD. If I end up with a ITS, I might be overrall happier because it might not stand out as much and itsnt as "limited" or...
Huh, I didnt think a comment like that would sway me but having owned a '01 ITR with JDM Recaros and '04 S2k, both as weekend queens, it was frankly tiresome keeping those cars mint.
Im now far less sentimental and neurotic. I want a great Honda product that harkens back to those special...
For some, they buy it for its intended purpose, which is to be able to crack the window a few inches in inclement weather without getting your interior dirty. Most get it because they feel it makes their car look better.
I never got on board with that look, but then again, I also dont tint either.
Man, I still cant get over how massive this car is. Not just the width, but its long too. I'll have to get used to it as someone who prefers a S2k sized car.
