I was interested in buying the FL5 but only about 10 cars came to Sweden. Price was about 60k USD. It was not possible to get an allocation. I ordered an RS3 instead, with a lot of options for only 63k USD.
I have said this before on the forums, but the problem with the CTR (FK8) is that while it has a really good chassis and good brakes it really lacks in engine, sound and acceleration grip.
The engine is super laggy (maybe it will be better on the FL5) and it sounds like crap. New exhaust only...
I had a TTRS 2010 that I modded for track driving. Had stiffer rear sways, upgraded Haldex controller, larger rear brakes, Brakes Collings, öhlins R&T coilovers (my car was the test car when öhlins modded the rs3 coils to fit TTRS). It has about 400hp and was really fast. I ran cup2’s and it...
I called a local dealer where I live. Sweden will only get 8 (!) FL5 CTR and Honda will decide who will get them, so it is not even first come-first serve. I hope we will get some more allocations later on.. price was not set but indicated to 550-600KSEK. This is 40-50% more than the FK8. Holy...
I mean I agree that old engine was very laggy, but I wonder now if the new turbo has smaller general capacity so you can’t get as much power as before with tuning? I mean a EA888 equipped golf R or cupra can run 100-200 below 9 sec (with DSG) and stage 2. We need more power to keep up since this...
I used to have a FK8,but I switched to an M2 (normal, not a comp) and I have to say that overall the M2 is a better car. The FK8 has some serious flaws that makes it really annoying:
1. FWD just limits acceleration grip in all everyday situations. The car never felt fast to me because in normal...
