I did look at this again last night when I left work and there were accumulated pebbles in there (I checked the opposite side that was "purged" by my coworker). It did seem like there was a bit of waviness in the flap that would likely have been mitigated by having the tape in place.
Seeing...
I just wanted to share an observation, and I'm curious if others have noticed this...
I was showing these guards to a coworker the other day and he reached down and flexed one of the front guards backwards, and a small pile of pebbles fell out. I'm guessing that these are just collecting...
Totally understand - no worries on the screwdriver. I could model one myself in about 3 minutes, but thought I would ask.
I installed mine a few days ago and didn't bother with the VHB tape yet, but I think I am happy with the positioning now. Is there any harm/risk in not using the tape?
Nice! I should have waited another week to install mine and saved the frustration with that part!
Any chance of making the STL available for those of us who purchased earlier and want to DIY print that screwdriver?
And just to clarify that image you posted...
In the photo, the L and R are...
Here's a couple of pics of mine installed:
EDIT: These are positioned with the screws in the approximate centers of their mounting slots.
EDIT2: I noticed when viewing the car from the front or back, this positioning puts the outer edge of the flaps at approximately the outer edge of the...
Yeah - the holes didn't align perfectly once I finally got that thick edge wedged into position, but they were close enough to get the push clips into place. Fiddling with those probably added an extra 30-45 minutes to my install time!
I think the material is too flexible to allow for a proper...
I got mine installed today (fronts and rears) during my winter/summer wheel swap. I installed them without the VHB tape for now and will go back and add it after I am happy with the positioning. My starting point is with the screws centered in each of the mounting slots on the flaps.
It was...
Hmm - OK. I will check but I don't recall seeing the inserts behind the door handles.
I will take a photo later this afternoon and post it to clarify what it looks like...
I had my son text me while I was out with my wife and other son to tell me there was a scratch on the rear passenger door of my FL5 and I was freaking out as we were coming home.
I took a look, fearing the worst, but there was nothing there. It turns out he was seeing the vertical line of the...
That's a timely response, because I was planning to swap my winter wheels to summers later this afternoon, so I will have them off anyway! I figure that will make it easier anyway, and this is hopefully a one-time install...
Mine showed up this week, but I am waiting for the weather to improve a bit before I tackle the front install. I will probably wait until it's time for the winter-to-summer wheel/tire swap to do the rears since I will be pulling the rear wheels anyway.
It’s a manual transmission - how does an electrical change make it shift more smoothly? The link to the nicoclub forum appears to be for G35/37 - which I believe was available with both a manual and automatic transmission?
Where did u get the image of the pinch weld locations that uses the Type R specific car graphic? That looks different from the manual I downloaded from Honda.
I need to go look at my jack to confirm, but I think I have the 3T (or possibly 2 or 2.5 Ton) Pittsburgh from HF. I need to get a good jack pad for it too (and again, confirm the size of the cup on the jack)...
I should also add that dealers not adding enough oil during an oil change is something that I am pretty sure happened to me with my last car (MK8 Golf R).
I got a warning message in the infotainment telling me I needed to add no more than 1 quart at my earliest convenience (which I did). I was...
Oh man - I just had flashbacks to my 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T 6MT with the orange plastic thing on the end of the dipstick. Does the FL5 have the plastic end to the dipstick? I haven't looked at mine yet, but now I feel the urge to go check my oil.
I ----ing hated that useless dipstick -...
I believe that the Engine setting is the only one that affects the valve in the exhaust, while the Engine Sound setting affects the piped in sound.
This thread has some posts by @Jester04 that shows the flap settings for the various engine settings...
