This is a more interesting prediction. I would sonsider one if the fuel economy was the same or better with that bump in power. the 2.5 is tired and old... it needs to be modernized and made more efficient and powerful. If they do that AND make it look decent... I will consider trading the Si or...
Its not a power loss but a momentum loss, you don't lose power you make more as you said, but going up hills and such you have less momentum and need to use more throttle to maintain speed. Its minimal in my experience though. The biggest drawback of a LW flywheel IMO is accelerating from a stop...
NICE! I noticed the filter being large on mine but figured it was to accommodate the velocity stack as you mentioned. Glad to see it is for reason. Also those photos look familiar ;)
I leave the actual answer to MAP, however I can see why companies are hesitant to do a full 3" now that I have actually changed one out. The flange that attaches to the frontpipe has two extra holes/bolt locations to allow for the oem brackets to be connected to it. If you did a 3" those...
Installed my MAPerformance catless downpipe this weekend. I didnt take any pictures but would like to share my experiences. The item came packages in bubble wrap with no damage or flaws. If anyone was wondering.
First is the quality... It is second to none. You can tell quality stainless was...
Strange, my IATs seem to be high like yours 20-25 over ambient (no gold tape though). but my STFT is 7%. That said I am getting a tune soon so I am not too worried about it. let me know how adding 10% to the MAF values goes.
I have not been watching them to be honest... its 100+ every day here so I am sure they are not amazing, that said I think this intake is a good middleground between a SRI and a CAI. I would guess the IATs are in the middle of those two.
Its at least 3 or 4 inches higher at the lowest point and maybe 6 inches higher at the highest point. I didn't think to measure my cobra before I took it off but that's my best guess. The MAP intake sits noticeably higher which for me is preferred.
Getting the stock lower box out really is the hardest part IMO the rest was cake. I personally have no idea how people got it out from the top... but more power to them haha.
you gonna need a jack or ramps. you miiighhtttt be able to do it without but it would be such a pain in the ass. I used ramps and it was still a pain in the ass.
