You can look at the downpipe instructions or the turbo instructions, both mention removing the Tip in there. Or you can watch this guy's video where he removes his TIP, showing where every bolt and connection is located.
The up-down play will be reduced with the cable bushings, the left and right play may be reduced with the centering spring but effort will be increased for sure.
There are two types of wheel spacers, bolt-on and slip on (seen below).
You most likely have slip on 5mm spacers. Once you go up to 15+ mm, they tend to be the bolt-on wheel spacers which use nuts to hold onto the factory studs and use their own studs to attach the wheel.
You may have a poor connection between your laptop and the KTuner unit.
To check this, connect your laptop with the KTuner software running and look at the bottom left corner.
There is a status bar that should be consistently green (if you aren't trying to load a tune).
