Oh the usual stuff -- not wanting to have to worry about voiding warranty (only at 19k miles), concerns about the clutch (even though I think using phearable and adjusting bbg I'd be fine). I'm not a gearhead at all, so just the residual fear of messing up a pretty good thing by going for a...
It is a little funny how heated things are getting here. I have a 2020 Si, and the fit and finish of mine is perfect, perhaps because Honda improved some things over the course of the cycle compared to 2017-18 models. I suspect the performance improvements that reviewers observe on the 11th...
I too am jealous of the Canadian spec, but I've learned on this site that's because Honda Canada bases the Si off the Touring version (and priced above Touring), while USA bases it off the EX (and prices between the EX and Touring). https://www.honda.ca/civic_sedan/trims
That's what finally clinched me to buy my Civic Si. I owned a Jetta and enjoyed it, but some developing issues (at only 50K miles) scared me off from buying a GLI. I looked at the 2021 GLI and wondered whether I made the right choice -- until I remind myself that my Si has been absolutely...
I have a 10th gen Si, but for 11th gen I'd pick the Sport Touring Hatch no question. No heated seats in the new Si is a 100 percent dealbreaker for me, and from a trade-off standpoint I'd rather have the ST amenities than the Si's slightly better horsepower and its LSD.
Maybe just to make everyone happy? When they redesigned the Accord, from 2018-2020 it only had a traditionally speedo without a number readout, and it got a lot of pushback, to the point that they added the number on the mid-cycle refresh. (Personally, I strongly prefer seeing the number...
I think your last point is ultimately why manuals are dying. Growing up in the 70s / 80s, one might learn manual because manuals were 1) cheaper to buy; 2) more fuel-efficient; 3) better driving than automatics of the day; and 4) more widely available than today. Today almost none of those...
I'm apparently an odd duck who pays very little attention to exterior styling of a car at all. I enjoyed the looks of my 2016 Jetta, and I enjoy the looks of my 2020 Si. But I care WAY more about the interior of the car, since that's where one actually spends the most of one's time.
I'm 100 percent with you. I love the new interior and infotainment of the 11th Gen, but there's no way I'd consider an 11th Gen Si without heated seats. I was expecting Honda would give the Si the lower trim infotainment, but it is apparently skimping by removing heated seats and dual zone air...
They always say "No dealer does this" when you ask for some reasonable, non-BS thing (like not adding hundreds of dollars of garbage add-ons). The only proper response is, "Thank you, I'll look for one that does." If you're in a dense enough area (or are willing to widen your search), you...
I'm an Android owner, not Apple, and IMO Android Auto is hot garbage. The nannying "six tap limit" (causing it to freeze for "safety" when accessing almost anything via touch) is infuriating to me, I couldn't imagine trying to navigate SiriusXM with it. Instead, I mount the phone on my dash...
I am verrryyyyy curious to see how the Si turns out. Like @silverrascal , I've always found the EX trim (which the 10th gen Si is mostly based on) to be the Honda sweet spot. I too can't believe they are putting SiriusXM on touring only now. I love the new interior, but no satellite radio is...
It seems to me that Honda's strategy is to decontent the lower trims in order to push more people into the premium-priced Touring / Sport Touring. I'm extremely curious to see how the new Si will be set up. I will not buy the new Si if it is based on the EX-level infotainment -- the absence of...
I was going to jump on this too. I gave a long look to the Elantra Sport (the predecessor to the N-line) and the Kia Forte GT, but given everything I read, I wouldn't have touched them with the 7-speed DCT. It's in a lot of different models (e.g. Kia Soul, Hyundai Kona) and it seems to have a...
Good point, and it will be interesting to see if there is a greater gap in power between the Sport Touring and the Si in the new generation. I love my Si, but I will be tempted to go Sport Touring manual in the 11th gen, for the upgraded interior and infotainment. Especially since I know I'll...
