The Motortrend article reads like a damn ad for the Si. Numbers absolutely matter or do people actually feel good about a car taking longer to accelerate and longer to stop than before? People need to stop defending Honda over the Si's 15 year long power stagnation.
I've been hearing that rhetoric in the community since my days on 8thgencivic when the Mazdaspeed3 and Cobalt SS came out nearly 15 years ago. If the Civic community actually believed that, they wouldn't be modifying their cars to be faster, yet tuning is prolific in the Civic community.

My friend used to tell me that about his Miata, then he had to borrow my LNF last month because his Miata was down. He had so much fun he borrowed it again last week for an instructor course (he's an instructor at Road Atl). He is now waiting on his xmas bonus to see if he can buy it from me. If...
For a car supposedly making 225bhp, it sure doesn't perform like it. According to reviews, the 11th gen is no faster and in fact, slower than the 10th gen. MT's Si only trapped 92.8mph which is not indicative of a car making 225bhp. I'm not saying the dyno is off, but if this car is indeed...
Motortrend's results are downright lethargic, 7.1 0-60, 15.3 @ 92.8mph? This is the slowest Si since the EP3 and slower than the 10th gen base Civic they tested lol.
I get the Civic is more about economy than the competition, but the GTI gets damn near the same fuel economy, yet is around 2...
That's a pretty substantial increase actually. Looks like Honda is joining the Audi/VW/BMW crowd in power rating their engines. I know a lot of people were concerned it would be slower than the 10th gen, but even with the slight weight increase, I'd wager this new model will still be quicker.
