We all know the previous gen 1.5T has much more HP than rated, which is why 10th gen Civic has faster 0-60 time than 11th gen. The 1.5T Accord has different CVT so I'm not surprised it's faster.
Fuel tank capacity from Honda.ca is 46.9L, which is the same as 10th gen. So a full tank can get you ~750km on 100% highway.
From this thread https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/reserve-gas.12883/, the reserve tank is part of the total 46.9L, not an extra allocation. And it's around 5L or...
Wow that's good to hear. We were split between the Legacy or the Camry. We finally picked the Camry for its NA engine. The Subaru's famous shaky/rumbly cabin also made us lean more towards the Camry.
I see, that makes total sense. The stock Firestone on plain Civic's are even worse.
So if I get better tires I could bring my 0-60 closer to 6.5 seconds, even without the KTuner. That sounds incredible.
Wow how is the coupe managed to be so much faster, brakes better, and has better grip on the skidpad?
Is that the coupe Si? It's it because of the lesser weight? Now I understand why everyone likes the coupe (aside from aesthetic).
Comparing to the 10th gen 1.5T sedan:
slightly faster 1/4 mile
better braking distance
better grip on skidpad(due to better tires and LSD? the stock firestone on 10th gen is trash)
And 10th gen Si stats for those interested:
Honda makes a great CVT. It doesn't make fake gear shifts so it's smooth like a luxury automatic, fuel efficient, and is able to squeeze out every power from the engine. For example, for 0-60, the manual 2.0L is only 0.6s faster than the CVT, and the 1.5T engine records almost the same time...
Insight is already discontinued in Canada. I test sat in it (my friend test drove it). I really do hope they either improve the drivetrain for hybrid Civic or use something not from Insight. Even during moderate acceleration something under the hood makes an annoying and unbearable high pitch...
Yeah this Civic is weird in a way that you could lift wipers without putting them in maintenance mode. I came from a VW and it's been a thing in German cars for more than a decade.
10th gen has the same function. You hold the wiper control stick up when turning off the car, then the wipers will activate, stop and stay in a vertical position on the windshield, i.e. it does a full swipe to the left but stops and doesn't go back. Your driver side wiper will stay to the edge...
Look, OP had a NA 2.0 GenX and that's all he had experience with. He didn't have a 1.5T so regardless how much better it was or how many people owned it, it's irrelevant to his experience. If you had a 1.5T, that's great. You don't have to nitpick on OP's lack of experience with it. Unless you...
Thanks for the detailed review! I have a couple questions:
What’s full open trunk? Do you mean the opening of the trunk is bigger? I've recently used my CivicX to load some renovation waste, and man I wish the opening is just a tad wider.
It's great to hear the that the tires are better. I...
Maybe all the changes are made to address the oil dilution issue? I know Civic isn't as affected as CR-V, but since they have similar engine, it's possible all these changes will be reflected onto the new CR-V to resolve the oil dilution issue.
