I don't think people do their homework before they buy a Type R . They get into the hype and just want it but there are sacrifices. It is a raw car and built for a purpose and luxury is not it. Seats are not made for all body types either. I am 5'10 and 151 pounds so this car is like a glove for...
Might want to also consider that winter gas plays a role in fuel economy, winter gas sucks big time. I am getting consistent 22-24 City driving out of my FL5. I also live in the south. I have not noticed any changes in range at fill up.
My R feels good to me going into 6th gear. I've owned many 6th speed Hondas starting with my 03 S2k and 03 Accord 6-6 back in 2003 and this car feels no different for gear changes. The gear box is closer to a S2k than other Hondas though IMO.
Been driving manual transmissions for 30+ years. 5 to 2nd could be a huge problem if you were going faster and over rev the engine. With that being said. If you are new take your time, to master a stick shift car is to feel where the gears are. You picked a fairly expensive car to learn on...
Paid 2k mark up for my CW FL5 on Black Friday. Ended up being 49.6 OTD with all weather mats, trunk mat and wheel locks. Also gave me 32,500 for my 24 Si which I had equity in, which was an over allowance for sure. So it was closer to MSRP.
I'm not disappointed at all with the purchase with...
Just under of a month searching. I was able to get my R for 49.6k OTD w/all weather mats and wheel locks.
This is my dealership I bought 63 cars prior too for the last 25 years. After everything, I paid a 2k mark up. I am good with that. To me I was ok with that little mark up since they loaded...
Love your build. Did you all have to pull the motor for head studs?
I love this platform as a daily but worry about the head lifting once I start wanting bigger power. I know what this engine is capable of but I want at least power in the safe limits.
This is my 3rd build with the 11th gen Platform. I have to say I do enjoy the ease of working on these cars. Some of you might remember my other builds “Wednesday” (ST Hatch) or “Harley Quinn” (Integra).

For daily use you wouldn’t notice too much but if you live in a hot climate you will notice your performance is affected by the heat. That’s why a bigger FMIC, charge pipes, enclosed style intakes and downpipes help these cars immensely keeping their IAT’s and ECT’s down.
Better cooling =...
I'm thinking Honda engineers probably heard of these cars heat soaking and did something to slow it down. Fk8, 10th gen Accord , 10th Gen Civics (Turbo models) and the 11th gen all heak soak like crazy.
