Honestly not bad ideas! In all seriousness though, I really do think there will be people showing up at least a day before the car arrives. If salesperson X says hey man the cars gonna be here Dec 12th, I bet you people will be there on at least the 11th if not sooner.
Some locations have had their "transit" status disappear for the past two days. Do we know if they're coming back, or does that mean the dealer has lost their allocation?
Definitely. I'm talking how many hours before they open, or even days. I don't know what to expect really!
I know for iphone releases or hyped games people would camp days ahead of time. Just not sure if that's what's going on here too...
Earlier in this thread it was mentioned some dealers are doing first come first serve. I think I've found one doing the same, but I'm not sure how early I need to be arriving before the car. Are we talking hours or days?
How early would you guys recommend arriving before the car?
The tire width and compound change is a good point. However, damping wouldn't need to be increased to account for taller sidewall.
Anyways, I was just trying to say that I wouldn't worry too much! From your post it seemed that way is all. Like @Ministry said, it may not be the case that the FL5...
I don't imagine the FL5 CTR will be any stiffer or harsher for daily driving than your FK8 CTR... I might be wrong but I doubt they'd adjust stiffness to noticeably exceed the FK8. IMO you don't need to be that worried.
Just spoke with a sales manager at Richfield Bloomington Honda. They currently only sell at MSRP, but he did say that the FK8 CTR previously sold at $2k over sticker. Not too bad, but it's still something. Wish they would just MSRP at that point.
Yea I'll double check with a couple other salesmen tomorrow to see if everyone's stories line up. Not sure what else I'll be able to do. I thought the written and signed paper would be sufficient, perhaps not.
I am out of state, which I made clear up front. The salesman said that wasn't an...
Yes Richfield in MN. I am also weary if they'll hold up their MSRP promise. I asked my salesguy to write my # on the waitlist, that it'd be sold at MSRP with no accessories, etc and he hand wrote and signed it without question. He swears up and down that I've got nothing to worry about. It...
I definitely find it odd as well. It's almost comical seeing them be surrounded by ADM allocations. Then I realize it just means I won't be getting a CTR. From what I gather they're a well respected dealer, so not sure what happened there.
Is there anything I can do to help MSRP dealers receive allocations? My name's down at Richfield Bloomington Honda, an MSRP only dealer, but looking at the CTR locator tool the 5 closest surrounding ADM dealers all have incoming CTRs. It almost looks as though the MSRP dealer was avoided altogether.
@daazn I would double check with a different sales guy. Yours might be giving you the run around. If you truly are #1 at MSRP, then another sales guy can just look in the system and confirm.
I called earlier today as well and was told there has never been a numbered waitlist, a deposit system...
Has anyone heard of Richfield Bloomington Honda? What are they like? I'm #3 on their list, but I'm not entirely confident in their MSRP statement. My sales guy wrote on my deposit receipt that I was #3 for the ctr at MSRP, but I'm assuming that wouldn't really hold up if push comes to shove.
Is selling an allocation not allowed here? It sounds like a gray area. Not exactly deplorable and would get an enthusiast from civicxi forums onto an earlier car.
Not sure if Richfield Bloomington Honda has been mentioned. I got on their list very early and my sales guy still swears they will sell at MSRP. Just waiting on the car to arrive!
Anyone have experience with Richfield Bloomington?
Man and here I was hoping for civicxi forums match maker haha. What is its spec? PCCBs? Carbon buckets or sport seats? Color? Id love to tell my Dad the deal you found.
Shoot me a PM.
The 718 spyder is my Dad's dream car, until he heard they're all at least 20k over. Mind me asking why this was once-in-a-lifetime? Maybe we could trade waitlist for waitlist! That'd be something!
The cars I'm coming from are FRS, ND2 Miata, and 3 NA miatas. My Dads owned sports cars too so any car I've tracked have been low and RWD. Just fallen in love with it I guess.
Owning two cars would not be the responsible move right now . Maybe 5+ years down the line. In the mean time I want a car that I can take on track days, so GR86 seems to fit the bill.
