Overland alcantara boot with an Acuity collar. I had to use electrical tape to make the boot and collar work without bunching as I got it before we all realized that the Acuity collar doesn’t match Overland’s cut for the opening size.
No short shifter, but the Mugen knob sits much lower than...
Anyone have any thoughts on the Lasfit bulbs vs the Type R LEDs? One of my rear blinker Type R LEDs just randomly fell out the other day and when I went to plug it back in, I found that it doesn't really "click" into place. It just sits in the socket with little resistance, so I'm debating...
Have the dealership take off the airbag assembly in the steering wheel and reseat it. This got fixed when I had them install my alcantara wheel, which involves all of that.
I swapped in the ITS ADS and changed to 18 265/35 wheels and really prefer the way the car rides as a daily driver. Much more comfortable, much less worry about blowing a tire on Atlanta's terrible roads.
That said, I'm not tracking the car or pushing as hard as many people on this forum so if...
A lot of us are nearing or past the one year mark of owning our FL5s and, to keep things looking great, I wanted to make a thread for recommendations for interior cleaners/protectants. Please post your recommendations for both cleaners and treatments for various surfaces in the FL5 such as the...
I haven’t installed mesh inserts on these yet, but I don’t think it’d pose an issue. Would likely make sense to either install the mesh vents on the car first or find a way to attach them to the rally armor.
FL5 dashboard part #77100-T39-A02ZA.
I believe the normal Civic hatch dashboard is #77100-T20-A01ZA and I have no idea if there is an actual difference between them but given that they are different part numbers I assume there must be.
Finally an update to wrap all this up:
I went ahead and ordered a new dash and alcantara steering wheel (might as well save on shipping) and got them installed today. My wallet is a bit lighter but I'm really happy to have everything fixed. I ended up paying a little more to go with a dealer so...
The most frustrating part is that my initial damage was minor enough that I could have probably lived with it. The damage I caused trying to fix it is what is costing me here. I'm a real cautionary tale ;_;
Updates:
Took to the car into one of the mechanics. I've used him before, great guy but very old school and no nonsense. Full quote was $1600, about $850 of that being the cost of the dash itself. I asked him to confirm the part number for me so I can make sure I'm sourcing the same thing as...
Glad to hear this! I was looking at swapping my OEMs to Akebono's to cut down on brake dust but I was concerned they would decrease my rotor life and wouldn't bite as well for daily driving.
I ordered it from myacuraparts.com back in late November, so it definitely took a minute to get here. I drove in Sport mode for a bit and it felt similar to the standard Type R Comfort mode. I haven't tested R mode (I rarely use it) but my understanding is that the ITS ADS shifts everything...
Finally got my ITS ADS unit in yesterday and installed it last night. Drove around Atlanta a bit today (our roads are awful) and the difference was immediately noticeable. Way smoother, cushier ride. Ride quality isn't quite luxury, but it is massively better in the ITS Comfort mode.
For...
I'm always surprised when people say the Type R is overly stiff, but I'm coming from a Veloster N that was harsher in every possible way. That said, I'm still gonna try out and ITS ADS unit because I'd love a cushier ride option for long commutes.
And the car DOES feel special. You own what...
