  1. Flat spotted tires fix

Yeah finding one is difficult, and I don't need 4. However, if anyone comes across someone selling one or if there's a better site than HondaPartsNow, just let me know! Appreciate the help! TIA!
  2. Flat spotted tires fix

Hey guys looks like rim straightening didn't make it perfectly stable as before; planning to keep this as a spare and get a new rim; from the dealers it's generally around $750-$800, and hondapartsnow has it around $520. Planning to go that route unless someone knows a better option!
  3. Flat spotted tires fix

Update: tire shop found that one rim is bent (not a visible bent but looks like it isn't a perfect circle anymore, they showed me a video of the tire rotating on the balancing machine, and yeah it looked slightly uneven). They did mention that one of their other branches fixes such rims but not...
  4. Flat spotted tires fix

Oh yeah, it got flat spots because it was parked for so long. When I said I filled it previously at a much colder temperature it was for leaving the car in the garage, not for driving around, to clarify. I have a CR-V as my winter car, the FL5 has seen a bit of snow once and that too in Utah not...
  5. Flat spotted tires fix

It was about 50F when I readjusted the pressures to the recommended spec. They were at 37psi front and 35psi rear initially (I had filled them to spec at a much colder temperature the last time so at 50F the pressures were higher). I am on PS4S yes, however, this vibration isn't consistent; it...
  6. Flat spotted tires fix

Yeah I'm not going to jump on the decision of getting a replacement set till I see whether they replicate that behavior in warmer temps.....I have balancing being off at the back of my mind but when I took it out for a drive last week I adjusted the pressures to recommended spec and the...
  7. Flat spotted tires fix

Yeah that's a fair point. Man I can't wait for the temps to go up! Seriously debating switching to a milder tire with a higher side profile but I have a dedicated beater with winters on so on the fence.
  8. Flat spotted tires fix

I have driven it almost a 1000 miles in Nov-Dec. Then went to the garage in mid-Jan and stayed trapped inside till last week. Noticed the vibrations early November. Hopefully, summer makes them regain their shape.
  9. Flat spotted tires fix

I used to be in Maine now I'm in coastal New Hampshire. Been all over the country at this point lol. If you're in New England I hope to catch you at some car shows once the season starts!
  10. Flat spotted tires fix

Yeah definitely learnt my lesson. Flatstoppers look expensive but seem like a good investment now. Fingers crossed I don't need a tire replacement.
  11. Flat spotted tires fix

Yeah I'll see if it improves by next month when the temps will go above 40F, if not I plan on getting a road force balance. If I do it now I fear that when the tires get rid of any temporary flat spots it might get slightly unbalanced again. Thanks!
  12. Flat spotted tires fix

I have heard conflicting opinions about the overinflating of tires (when driving to straighten them out, not for storage). I did go for a diagnostic drive a couple of days back when the temps went above 50F, and inflated the tires to the correct pressures (they were a couple of PSI higher than...
  13. Flat spotted tires fix

I don't have pictures but it got progressively worse as the winter approached. Never drove it below freezing temps, but did drive in sub 40F weather. The dealership did rotate the tires and I am guessing it was the fronts which were worse as the vibrations reduced in the steering but started to...
  14. Flat spotted tires fix

Hey guys, I am in New England and it's the first time the car was in an unheated garage with a concrete floor. Looks like that combination has caused my tires to get flat spots, as I have been getting vibrations in the steering on the highway since early November. The car wasn't driven since...
  15. Long commutes

Guilty as charged. Mine still had 5/32 inch tread left around 33k miles. As luck would have it, one of my tires got a nail stuck in it, another had a small leak, and another got a puncture by hitting a pothole too hard, so replaced all 4 but as per the dealer they still had a few thousand more...
  16. Long commutes

I can testify, this does make a big difference. And yep, 10mm DEEP socket highly recommended, else you'll be turning a 10 min job into an hour long one prying a wrench vertically into that gap like I had to haha.
  17. Long commutes

Yes you guessed correct, but I've seen even worse roads. Try Arizona or Tennessee (the worst roads ever in Memphis, never seen crater sized potholes on highways before, enough to make your car a salvage title). Anything north of Massachusetts, ie. New Hampshire and Maine have beautiful roads...
  18. Long commutes

Thanks for remembering, I haven't been active on the forum for a while but that's some Superman-like memory there haha. My driving habits did in fact change. I realized I was daily driving the Type R too much while my CR-V (whose purpose was to be the daily driver) stayed in the garage more...
  19. Low Speed Wheel Squeaking Noise

This is exactly the same issue I have faced. I have always maintained that this isn't rocks getting stuck in, that's a separate issue. Anyone looking for possible causes/remedies can look at my messages in this thread, hopefully it helps.
  20. Low Speed Wheel Squeaking Noise

For my case at least, I have narrowed it down to excessive brake dust causing the squeal. Using brake cleaner and "de-squeak" from CRC fixes the problem for a few days, and then it comes back. Also don't wash the car when the brakes are still hot. Made that mistake once, and brakes started...
