If you want the Type R things like the seats then don't settle for a Type S! $46,500 is around MSRP for a new Type R anyway, and they're not impossible to find.
Personally I just don't like how the Type S looks + don't like the seats, so that took it out of the running for me. I know some...
I bought one in OK and had it shipped for $1,200. This was three months ago and I still haven't been able to find one for less than $5K over in Oregon.
If you want one now, I think out of state is the move.
Pros:
1. Great handling
2. Good driver feedback for the most part. Inspires confidence when you drive
3. Very practical size and packaging
4. Looks good inside and out
5. Great shifter and seats
Cons:
1. Road and tire noise
2. Stiff suspension
3. Small fuel tank, gas mileage is not great

This is validating to me — I was considering a Golf R but on the used one I was able to test drive the infotainment was laggy and I just didn't feel like it would work every time (also have read some horror stories from people who own them). I almost took the risk on a new '24 but I'm glad I...
They're pretty much the same car so I say buy the one you want to see in your driveway every day. The biggest differences IMO are the seats and the price. CTR will likely hold its value better.
I fit 4 boxed 18x9.5 wheels and 4 unmounted 265 tires in my car. One tire did have to go in the front seat but I feel like I could’ve got it all in the hatch if I spent some time on it.
I won't pay over MSRP on principle, and I'm happy I didn't because they're not too hard to find at MSRP now. I paid cash so rates don't matter to me, and if I had paid over I'd have spent $5-10K extra for literally nothing except getting my car a few months sooner. I drove an RS3 for those six...
