  1. Is it just me, or is the aftermarket for the FL5 kind of lame?

And that's the point - anything is better than the stock sound. To me AWE Touring is the least offensive.
  2. Is it just me, or is the aftermarket for the FL5 kind of lame?

In terms of no exhaust sounding good, I disagree. It's not going to sound like a V8 or V6, but it can definitely sound good. Yes, of course. Perfect was the wrong adjective. To me it sounds the most "natural", or how the car should sound if it wasn't muted from the factory with the OEM exhaust.
  3. Is it just me, or is the aftermarket for the FL5 kind of lame?

AWE Touring sounds perfect. Nothing comes close.
  4. Canadian FL5/DE5 Build, Suggestions & Tips Thread

I'm pretty conservative, and these are the mods I made. I don't think I will do anything else. I find the car perfect this way. 1. Disconnected the ASC module to disable that fake pumped-in engine noise. All modes sound the same and natural now. 2. Installed the ITS ADS module to make all...
  5. Civic Type R Ownership | A Trip to Crazy Town [Savage Geese]

@savagegeese Thanks for doing this. Great video as always - something that will last out there for years to come. Your work is important. You mentioned the ITS model swap and how cars with lower limits are more fun, and the below are the only ones I've made to make this car almost perfect. 1...
  6. Enlightening read on wheel offset and effects on suspension and steering

You're looking for "definitive evidence" for the "sensory element" on an Internet forum...You'll never find the former on a forum and the latter is subjective. So not sure why you're even posting TBH, especially on this forum as you have the ITS. If you've had a lot of cars, you'd know by now...
  7. Enlightening read on wheel offset and effects on suspension and steering

For street use, and even track really, it's not going to matter. There is a lot of theoretical talk in this thread. This is a street car on street tires. That's the limit you'll feel more. You're not going to feel any difference 15mm out...
  8. The FL5 Civic Type R Wheel Spacer Reference Thread

Wow. Not good. Should be checked/re-torqued 50-100mi after install and then every few thousand miles. Otherwise could be trouble, which is why spacers get a bad rep.
  9. The FL5 Civic Type R Wheel Spacer Reference Thread

Just the 50-100mi post install re-torque?
  10. The FL5 Civic Type R Wheel Spacer Reference Thread

Do you have to check the torque every few months or so?
  11. [Now Available] AWE Exhaust Suite for the Honda FL5 Civic Type R

I notice it around 2600RPM windows closed too. I also like the sound, but it's there for sure. Other RPMs is fine. It does make listening to music more difficult. I need to find out the best settings for bass, mid, and treble with the new exhaust.
  12. [Now Available] AWE Exhaust Suite for the Honda FL5 Civic Type R

It's not huge, but do you also notice some droning around 2600RPM with your Touring?
  13. Best Type R exhaust mods for FL5

AWE Touring. I researched this a lot, and it's the best IMHO.
  14. [Now Available] AWE Exhaust Suite for the Honda FL5 Civic Type R

Makes sense, thanks. I'd be curious to hear the Track, but I don't want more in-cabin noise. I'd be curious to see how the 180 Tech cancels out certain frequencies, but would need a back-to-back for that. With the Touring, I notice a bit of drone around 2600RPM.
  15. The FL5 Civic Type R Wheel Spacer Reference Thread

Got it. Maybe just peace of mind. BTW, are you getting more spray and debris from the fronts down the sides of the car? This is my main reservation.
  16. The FL5 Civic Type R Wheel Spacer Reference Thread

So I noticed two Bonoss spacers for the FL5: https://www.bonoss.com/product/bonoss-forged-active-cooling-hubcentric-wheel-spacers-pcd5x120-cb64-1-al7075-t6-for-honda-civic-type-r-fk2-fk8...
  17. [Now Available] AWE Exhaust Suite for the Honda FL5 Civic Type R

So @Sara/AWE , you're basically saying the Track is not louder than the Touring externally, only in the cabin?
