There are six jacking points on the fl5:
1-4: The reinforced sections of the pinch welds immediately ahead of the rear wheels and immediately behind the fronts (see image below from the owners manual). Those are where the pinch is thicker with an added right angled plate welded on the pinch...
Very nice. I have the boost blue model (to match my car) currently stuck in customs because the seller didn’t include a customs value declaration. Hopefully will get resolve next week so I can finally get it.
May I ask why are you selling the Milltek? Don’t like the sound? Drone? Got something better?
Asking because I’m looking to get an exhaust (one of two shortcomings in the fl5 experience for me is the lack of sound) and so far narrowed it down to the Milltek and the upcoming Borla.
If asking...
I have the Mishimoto installed on mine. Measured and emptied it 1000 miles after installing - it collected 4 ml - exactly the same amount as Mishimoto said they saw in their testing after a 1000 miles.
About 5000 miles later I changed the oil and emptied the can again - it collected a further 18...
Are you talking about lane departure warning (the steering giving little jerks when you go over lines) or lane keep assist (the car steering by itself to stay in your lane)?
LKA will not turn on by itself (it’s the button on the right spoke of the steering wheel). LDW turns itself on every time...
Below the left ac vent look for a button with a car surrounded by a circle. It will bring up the safety systems menu on the dash. The top one is the lane departure warning. Scroll with the right knob on the wheel and click to remove the check box. This turns it off. You can now scroll back to...
Starting the car from cold I get a screeching sound when turning the wheel. It seems to happen only when cold and with the car not moving, e.g. when pulling out of a tight parking spot. No screeches once it’s moving.
Anyone else has that too? Is it normal?
I think it’s normal. My fl5 will stay warm for hours in the garage, which itself becomes somewhat of an oven. I’m sure it will be much less apparent in winter. This car doesn’t vent heat quickly when it’s not moving.
btw, a few days ago I emptied the Mishimoto catch can to see how much...
Mystery of the dust crop circles solved…
Went to the ppf guys today. Turns out they dropped a magnetic ppf wrap gripper disc in the door cavity during the installation. It attached itself to the door and pulled the iron brake dust onto the door in the magnetic field pattern.
I was curious as...
Yes exactly. It wipes off easily and will show up again in no time. Third time I noticed it in the last week or so (I wiped it off each time).
I’ll have the ppf place check it out, as if it’s residue, it must be from the installation process. Maybe it’s just a matter of cleaning it thoroughly...
I got the car with 7 miles showing on the odo and the panel looks perfect. I had the entire car ppfed - could that have something to do with it? If it’s residue, it has to be on top of the ppf layer right?
Anyone else getting this dust pattern on their fl5?
There must be some magnet there pulling brake dust onto the door. It’s right behind the front wheel air outlet, but only on the driver’s side.
First post BTW. Absolutely loving my boost blue fl5.
