HRC sells 18x10 et 55 tires that are manufactured by Titan 7. They go for $525 / each. That's a good price for a forged wheel, in a FL5 / DE5 compatible fitment (essentially maintains the stock inner wheel rim location and, as a result, has a minimal impact on scrub radius despite adding width)...
FYI: the snorkel has been found to block a significant amount of flow to the radiator and cause coolant / oil temp issues. This is more of a concern for those taking their car to the track than it is for those who drive only on the street, but just figured I'd bring the pretty substantial...
All I can think of is that -- probably -- nobody is intentionally running their oil that low, but in the event of a low oil level measurement, they might want to know how dangerous the situation really is (and a more specific"absolute low" level marking might make that more clear than a...
I've been very clear I expect the dipstick length to be different, just the tip to be the same (i.e. the high / low range). It feels like you are intentionally attempting to misrepresent something I've been very specific about, here.
Not sure if this was directed at me... I also never...
I don't believe the factory dipstick reflects the standard, though; I think it's probably minimum viable product. I'm sure Honda took the time to figure out what the real measurements should be but that they didn't want to take on the expense of manufacturing plastic dipstick tips for that...
Some good points in here, but I think one thing to consider is:
The orange plastic piece on the factory dipstick is likely a "one size fits all" solution that Honda uses on all their dipsticks, regardless of oil pan, etc. While I have no doubt that the center of the orange piece (i.e. length of...
The 981 GTS also comes with the LSD, which hardly anyone optioned on their 981s / 981 Ss -- seriously, it's impossible to find. But, imo, the EPS on the 981s isn't that great.
I know there were some issues with AC, etc. for more recent FK8 MYs. I wonder how well the FL5 firmware works OOTB. Hope anyone who decides to run this chimes in!
You should fix roll center / bump steer, etc. when lowering. Most seem to skip it... granted most seem to skip the rear camber arms and end up running significantly more negative camber in the rear than in the front 🤷♂️
Whiteline seems to be the only party selling tie rod ends. Spoon / KTuned...
Lowering springs will also throw off your roll center and cause bump steer, both of which will negatively impact handling at or near the limit. You can correct for this, but relevant parts for the FL5 are limited and not well documented.
Alternatively, the additional $45k can be put to something completely different, including a second car (and if lightly used is an option, that opens a lot of doors to solutions that address OP's wants).
Good feedback, here (and I think you'll find this is consistent with the experiences of others).
OP, if you're after the luxury / performance, I think there's no question the G80 is the answer (for ex., you mentioned FWD is something you're battling with).
If it's mostly ride quality /...
VT Forged, right? I think mine probably came in same time as yours... have not taken photos, but they look great. No complaints with the experience so far (granted haven't mounted / balanced yet). Similar to yours, mine have no visible branding, etc., and I absolutely love that (wish I could...
Yeah, same. I saw the tie rods, and my brain immediately went "!!!", but then... 😞 back to waiting for an FL5/DE5 compatible solution (and preferably one with real analysis or, at minimum, a suggested / compatible drop height).
Great posts -- very detailed, etc., ty! Still free of any odd squeaks / rattles, NVH, etc. with the offset mounts?
Wonder if they will update bolt lengths? Nice to see you did roll center / tie rods.... everyone seems to skip that when they lower 🙄
