FL5 is stock other than RE-71RS tires when on track and the pad issue described below.
About a month ago I did a single track day. A few days prior to the event I installed R7 pads on the front. I followed Paragon’s bed in procedure exactly (I actually did the full bed in procedure twice)...
Had a track day at Hedge Hollow just south of Kanas City over the weekend with HOD. Installed Paragon R7 pads on the front a few days before the event and went through Paragon's bed in procedure twice but, still ended up with pretty bad uneven pad deposits causing a rough brake peddle...
I am not an expert on all the causes of carbon build up but I installed a catch can at about the 2,000 mile mark. I come from the Audi/VW world where a catch can is almost a necessity. I should keep better track of the volume it catches but it is not much. I am currently at 10k miles and I...
What is 5/6 and 4/6? There are 3 positions/holes on each end. Setting options would be 1/1, 1/2, 2/2, 2/3, and 3/3. These are the setting options listed in the installation instructions - I would assume they do not recommend 1/3.
Have an autocross this weekend so wanted the stiffest setting. Either way it needs to be able to go to the stiffest setting with the stock end links, correct??
Worried they have it installed incorrectly. This is an experiences shop that works on a bunch of Porsches.
Dropped the car off this morning to have the RV6 rear sway bar installed. I did not purchase the RV6 end links - was going to use the stock end links. Shop says the bar cannot be put to the stiffest setting with the stock end links - the stock end links are too short. Anyone else run into...
Question for guys running track pads and then switching back to street pads. Do you do any type of bedding procedure when you put the track pads in for the first time? Or when you switch between compounds for a subsequent track weekend?
1. Go back to the dealer
2. Why is buffing it out a no no? You could probably get all of it out (or virtually all of it out) with a light (not very aggressive) polishing compound and a microfiber towel.
Looks like to me they have not made a decision yet. Don't they normally have something like this "Thank you for your letter. The STAC believes the Elantra N is appropriately classed in BST."
Congrats on the nationals trophy! Is that your first?
Would you mind laying out your full autocross setup? Wheels, tires, alignment, sway bar, pads, etc. This would help some aspiring autocrossers (me).
I went a difference route than most. I do not like the look of stock black wheels on boost blue and also wanted to limit costs. I purchased a set of stock ITS wheels cheap from someone who upgraded and use those as my daily wheels - which I really like the gunmetal-ish look with boost blue...
I found a guy on Reddit making an IOS autocross data logger. I have downloaded the developer version he mentions and it looks pretty legit. According to him it will connect to a Racebox GPS unit - I don't have one so hard for me to try it out. Also, when I downloaded the developer version it...
In my opinion you do not need to upgrade from the stock pads for autocross. I run in BS in the Kansas City region. We have around 150 cars each event, with multiple people who have trophied at nationals, and I am in the top 5 PAX with just 200TW tires - no other mods. I have debated pulling...
