1. Simply put, your reducing the travel of the struts. Not a big problem but does affect "efficiency" technically. Not enough to worry though. Companies R&D take this into consideration when designing their product.
2. I haven't had to suggest any other parts to any customers. Unless u go with...
You couldnt grab that piece and let it fit right in from a premium trim? The fk8s use the sport touring console pieces to accomplish this if im not mistaken. I opted to do something a little differently with the back of my console.
OEM wont offer remote starts on manual transmission vehicles. I installed a viper unit in my car as I'm an authorized dealer. I also deal with a few other brands of remote starts (idatalink, compustar, fortin, etc) All the FK8s I have done has been with viper units.
I have an FL5 to do soon...
Well with the phone app you have access to start, stop, lock, unlock and any other features the installer may have wired in (maybe you want to turn on your underglow or something lol) you have access to this from anywhere because it uses cell service. (there is a subscription fee). Not sure if...
I actually just took an EXTREMELY poor installed fortin unit out of a FK8 because the shop that installed it had the guy return like 3x and it still wouldn't work they ended up refunding him when he brought all the stuff back.
There IS some extra clutch wiring that needs to be done. You should...
Someone drifted into the wrong forum lol
Wireless android auto is nice. Lets you use a standard fastcharging charger. The radios don't quite keep the phones charged up adequately when plugged in. Like if my phone is low and I plug it in for android auto and take a drive. I wouldn't have...
So heres my order of my first few mods (i usually hit QOL before performance)
Remote start with phone app/tracking
ceramic tints
rock guards/mudflaps
(while wiring in my remote start) I created an extra front 12v outlet and 2 outlets in the rear (where my previous sport touring had the rear...
Not going to go into a bash fest but I was disappointed with what i saw on my logs when i was running a map based on the selectable options within the program. Do yourself a favor and get a map from someone who knows what they're doing with these cars. I've used phareable alot for over a decade...
+1 for blackhawk. I've shopped with them quite frequently. I've always felt my stuff arrived sooner than i anticipated. Also, those mirrors are great I have them on my FK8.
Like someone mentioned above, The ebay set say FL1 but essentially they're the same thing.
Friend sent this in a chat. Thought I'd share incase anyone wants to see how involved this is.
It's a tad involved in my opinion. I've dropped the subfame on a 10th gen a few times. The 11th gen will follow suit.
Most dealers have a horrible service department. Nothing but horror stories unfortunately. Alot of carelessness, not many knowledgable techs and the techs that are knowledgeable wont waste their time on recalls and warranty work when there is high book time jobs available. I only deal with...
For lowered FK8/FL5, I use cusco plastic ramps to get the car somewhat off the ground and then I use my 3ton harbor freight jack to jack it up from the center point behind our rear motor mounts.
I've rarely ran into this problem. So I've been stumped. This is maybe the 3rd or 4th FL5 steering wheel I've done, a couple FK8s (in the past 3 or 4 years) No prior issues. Even upgraded a bmw steering wheel the other day, no issue what so ever.
I do agree an alignment would solve the issue...
Hey for those who have swapped their steering wheel.
Can you guys/gals check what markings you see on the casting. So far the FL5s I remember doing all say A-1 on the right. I just installed a steering wheel for a buddy (don't know the brand) and it doesn't go on straight. The steering wheel is...
Nice, can't beat free lol I wish dealer's would cover what theyre honestly supposed to without a customer jumping through firey hoops like wringling brothers... BUT... I get it...
We got "fellow owners" breaking stuff cause they watched a YouTube video and then wanting it repaired for free or...
No one wants to buy a type R that's been test driven unless its discounted significantly (which they wont do) and these cars aren't so plentiful that they can just have a demo one laying around.
On the other hand, most people in the market for this car are convinced they want it and definitely...
