Took me 3-4 hours and I'm a toyota master tech. They kind of suck to get to. I wish they were in the front but then the turbo would have been harder to install.
@Jester04 Let us know when you get your can flex tune dialed in on your ctr. I'll probably have you tune mine when you get free time. Hondata can-flex w/ fuel upgrade ots tune is working great on e70 but didn't have options for kuro turbo upgrade, 27won high flow cat. converter, prl hvi, prl...
I know that but the ctr will be mostly garage kept and sitting when it's cold and shitty out for most part of winter and ethanol doesn't really like the cold for engine starting and stored for long periods of time which could crystalize or gel up. I would run 93 octane with the standard 10%...
I'm so excited to get that flex fuel kit before it gets too cold to play with ethanol for all my bolt on upgrades. Here i come all you challenger, mustang, camaro, and even some older corvette owners.
I took the heat shield off of my 23 ctr FL5 too as it didn't fit. You don't need the heat shield unless you really need the do not touch symbol for idiots that want to touch hot exhaust.
Hvi prl intake with upgrade intake pipes, 27 won kuro turbo and high flow cat. converter, prl intercooler and charge pipes, hondata upgrade lpfp, hpfp, 1330cc injectors
Finally, got my pro tune done here in kansas city on 93 pump gas. It's a little more smooth with more power than hondata's ots tune. Modified by KC did my tune on the conservative side for longevity and not lean out the cylinders which is why it's not pushing over 430hp that it probably could...
Thanks for the input and possibly saving my engine. I don't know why prl is selling the flex fuel kit reader and saying it'll work on 23+ fl5 platform when it won't. I'll tune it for 93 with all my bolt ons and see where it gets me. I don't want to have to perform ethanol fuel samples at every...
The company had tuned other type r's before here in kc with other makes as such and said they can tune it for flex fuel compatible. I guess, i can just tune it for 93 pump gas if you think they'll damage the engine by trying to do so.
Finally, got all my parts installed on the 23 ctr. Hvi prl intake with intake pipes, 27 won kuro turbo and high flow cat. converter, prl intercooler and charge pipes, prl flex fuel sensor, hondata lpfp, hpfp, 1330cc injectors, and ots hondata tune. Now, waiting for july 18th when i take my ctr...
Not to be a pain but does anyone know if hondata is working on figuring a tune out that will work with prl flex fuel kit? I just don't want to keep having to change tunes with every fill up that has different ethanol concentrate.
Damn, okay. Thanks for the heads up. I'll just wait to install the prl flex fuel kit and just run pump 93 gas for now with the upgraded hondata fuel kit.
Hi peeps. I'm new to this forum and have a 23 ctr. My current setup is a jailbroken pcm w/ hondata ots tune, prl hvi and intake pipes, prl intercooler and pipes, 27 won kuro turbo and high flow cat. Just ordered and going to install hondata fuel upgrade kit with LPFP and prl flex fuel sensor kit...
Thanks for this thread and a better upgrade than the suma mirrors. I just ordered a set. Here's a 3% off code for whomever wishes to order a set of these mugen mirrors from black hawk japan.

There's another thread talking about an automatic dimming power mirror with homelink that should have came standard with the ctr's. I have installed this rear view interior mirror upgrade and wasn't too bad and fairly straight forward...
