  1. Type R Spring Track Day - May 24-25, 2025 VIR

Wound up not being able to make it. Slowly improving though so hopefully next time. It’s a long not funny, but funny, story I will tell at the tavern next time.
  2. Type R Spring Track Day - May 24-25, 2025 VIR

I threw my back out moving some wheels. So I won’t be able to drive. Are spectators allowed. Wouldn’t mind just chilling if I don’t have anything else going on.
  3. Is there a jack that can reach the front point easily?

https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-long-reach-low-profile-professional-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-blue-56641.html Is this the one? Does it work without added fuss such as having to use ramps or jack the sides?
  4. Is there a jack that can reach the front point easily?

Its funny you should say this, I was about to order a set and watched a video. Dawned on me that it would take me twice as long to set this up, as it wouldto simply jack the car up a bit.
  5. Is there a jack that can reach the front point easily?

Anyone ever find one that works? I am coming up on needed a new jack anyways. Considering quick jacks, but thats just a lot of headache for quick tasks.
  6. Fl5 rotors

Well. I was completely wrong. The photos and literature are incorrect on the website. From GiroDisc Thanks for reaching out. Our rear rotors are not vented – they are direct replacements for the factory rotors, so we do a solid rotor as well. However, we do design them to be 2-piece fully...
  7. Fl5 rotors

The rear oem discs are not vented. I am going to call girodisc on Monday to ask. Bc there isn’t a lot of space.
  8. How have you adjusted your seat?

Since you feel cramped, do this. Start kinda in the middle. Press the clutch fully until you hit floor. Slide back one click. Do this until you (without shifting or twisting) can’t hit the floor. Click it forward until it’s comfy.
  9. Type R Spring Track Day - May 24-25, 2025 VIR

    Don’t forget Monaco!
  10. Fl5 rotors

I am not talking about contact surface grooves / slots. The vaning is internal to the disc, in between the two friction surfaces. When it spins, it pumps air through the inside of the disc. The brakes are a two piece design with replaceable discs and reusable hats. They are commonly used on...
  11. Don't Sell Your OEM Wheels

Call a wheel repair shop. Usually it’s cheap to repair black wheels. Painted wheels at easy.
  12. Missed shift 3rd to 2nd with resulting added NVH

Change… your… valve springs. If you are convinced your motor is not running correctly start there. But you need to do that asap. If they are damaged and you continue to drive on bad springs it will tear up your motor.
  13. Fl5 rotors

Girodisc rotors are curved vane. From their website. “The rotor utilizes a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.”
  14. Missed shift 3rd to 2nd with resulting added NVH

If you did money shift. Replace your springs. It’s not overly expensive and can save you trouble. Could be as simple as that.
  15. Factory Air Dam PPF or is it just shipping material to be removed? Would someone mind looking at your car?

This is the correct part number. Using the part diagram the dealers gave me the photo looks different than the online diagram I found before. Thanks for the find!
  16. Missed shift 3rd to 2nd with resulting added NVH

Sorry this happened. As others have said, we are all human. I was a few hundred rpm below a money shift on my brand new z06 on the race track a few years back. Misjudged my corner entry speed on a new unfamiliar track. PDR showed I was okay, but barely. I don’t know much about these...
  17. Factory Air Dam PPF or is it just shipping material to be removed? Would someone mind looking at your car?

I’ll check the pn when I get home. The one one the type r and the base civic are slightly different. I think that pn may be for the base civic based only on the parts diagram picture. The center hit has a small recessed area on the non type r ones.
  18. Factory Air Dam PPF or is it just shipping material to be removed? Would someone mind looking at your car?

I suppose. The oem replacement air dam is available for $26 online. It’s held on by a few screws. Seems like it would be very easy to replace if damaged. I am not worried about it.
  19. Factory Air Dam PPF or is it just shipping material to be removed? Would someone mind looking at your car?

Thats very similar to what mine looked like. Mine was peeling a bit more at the bottom on the right, kinda like I think yours is on the left. And with slightly more agressive vertical failure areas / debris behind them. I peeled it off. Didn't want it deteriorating and wind up flapping...
