Yes, but keep it simple....
An ignition coil is a transformer that turns low voltage (primary windings) into high voltage (secondary windings). Current flows on primary, secondary coil is induced to charge, when triggered to ground and with enough charge it will jump the spark plug gap...
I swapped coils on my sport touring with coils from an Si/Integra and noticed the engine ran slightly smoother but HP and mpg stayed the same.
The reason coils feel different is not because of amperage/voltage, multi spark, misfires, it's because of different dwell times and if multi-coil that...
Battery lasting 10-15 years!!! That would be 1 to 2 batteries for almost the life of the car! What magical voodoo shop did you go to?!? Did you walk uphill both ways to school as a kid!?!
I've worked at an auto shop for 7 years and the normal life expectancy of an OEM battery is 3-4 years and...
They are just lowering springs, nothing that requires super high levels of specialized equipment/training or super precise adjustments or torquing. Any shop with good reviews willing to install aftermarket parts bought by the customer will do. Wherever you go, check that they can do an alignment to.
Wow, impressive list.
I had three interior rattles. Headliner, front left b pillar, and passenger side door all rattled at different RPM. They unintentionally went away after installing subframe collars. I got the PRL set, but I'm sure any brand will do the same. The rears didn't seem to do...
Yes on 10th gen civics but did they mention also on 11th gen? Im not saying it doesn't or won't happen, it is just less common. It's strange that very few members on 11th gen civic websites have had issues but yet the stigma from the 10th gen carried over. It's also strange how almost nobody...
Headgasket issues on 11th gen 1.5t (2022+) civics seem to be much less common than the 10th gen civics. If you don't plan on tuning the car, it is very reliable. 27won mentioned as long as you aren't nearing 300HP the OEM gasket and studs are good. I've also heard the issue is mostly fixed...
No, from a Type R or S
Yes, from an Si or Integra base/aspec
Type R bolt pattern is different so the rotors won't go on. You would literally have to swap the whole suspension system not just the knuckles as the arms are different to.
Si /Integra brakes are an easy swap and are a noticeable...
Looks like the intercooler is doing a good job. Your IAT1 are high, most likely because it's not getting fed any cool air. Without the shroud it's possible the incoming air is mixing with heat coming off the radiator and downpipe/turbo. Put the shroud back on or get a cai.
Please post iat1 and iat2 numbers. Did you upgrade your charge pipes?
It's normal for iat1 to be 10 degrees warmer than ambient and iat2 to be 10-20 degrees warmer than iat1 if the car is moving. If the car is not moving it can get as hot as the engine bay. It is summer so higher temps are...
Is the extra headroom because lack of sunroof or lower seating or both? I was going to do an autocross and was also concerned about helmet clearance. Im 5'6", how tall are you? Was it a tight fit or impossible to drive with a helmet?
Sorry, but I'm going to go on a rant so maybe just ignore this post...
The Si and TypeR are two VERY DIFFERENT cars. When people ask this question it sounds like ignorant flexing $ "Should I buy a base Toyota Corolla or a Porsche 911?!?" Drama!
The Si is a fun daily street car but not...
Usually when I've seen customers with tires like that are for several reasons.
1) driven regularly on sharp edged rock or brick roads/driveways.
2) aggressive driving on summer tires in cold winter.
3) tire tread separation from rubber that did not cure properly when manufactured.
PS4S usually...
Sort of. It'll work, but it doesn't look good. The FL5 hood front corners are slightly shorter and the hood latch is longer. It will "fit" but the latch needs to be repositioned and fender panels adjusted, even after all that things don't line up great..
Oh cheese and crackers Batman! It would be an all or nothing swap. Every body part, including the hood, would have to be swapped since one piece at time would interfere with each other, except for the spoiler. You would also need the under bumper support bar and mounts and wheel spacers for the...
The following are in order from highest to lowest HP gain.
Any catless - 100% need a tune to ignore p0420 error and will be stinky (sulfur/ rotten egg smell.) loudest.
27Won Catted - needs tune, slightly stinky exhaust note slight change.
PLM - cheapest, need a tune, gamble on fit/finish and...
The money you'll to lose throughout the process of selling/trading your Si and buying the typeR would equal buying a marked up TypeR originally. It doesn't make sense to buy a typeR solely because you found a good deal. It does make sense if you just don't like your Si. You mentioned dumping...
Hard to tell from pictures alone. If you can post the tread depth readings at each of the four main tire channels, the alignment readings and your cold tire pressures, I can tell you exactly what's happening and how to fix it.
The following may not be accurate, because based on pictures...
