It's like 400 lbs heavier than the old Type R, so weight has less effect, and it has more torque and flatter torque curve.
The old integras weren't that fast, it was just very involving and exciting cause of the light weight, the steering and road feel and the sounds the motor made. Cars...
I feel the same way about my Focus vs my 2020 Si - it's so much nicer inside, quieter, zero rattles, seat more comfortable (slightly), B&O stereo is world's better, and I love the hatchback (look and usability). As a family car in Taiwan (seats 4 comfortably) it's perfect.
But back in the US...
You wonāt get $27k from a dealer. They canāt sell a 2018 Si for much more than that. Try Carmax but donāt think they want your mods. Sell the car privately or ideally remove the mods.
I test drove the GLI before buying the Si, didn't like it at all. You sit very high up, it feels huge, shifter isn't very good. Feels like driving a minivan compared to the Si.
I drove a Fiesta ST in like 2018 when they were new, they are very raw, hard to compare to the Si. It feels like a...
good input thanks. I think what attracts me to the Type R is that itāll be enjoyable even at normal speeds. I loved shifting in my 2020 Si and the car was fun even tooling around. Hell Iād buy an Si if it came in hatch form, I think the sedan is also a bit too sedate this gen too.
Iām in Taiwan...
only other practical fun cars I can think of are IS500 and the two Blackwings, maybe RS3. Iād consider a Quadrifoglio if it wasnāt 45 minutes to the nearest dealership.
Typical role for the second car for people with kids is short trips to and from daycare or school, and going to sports stuff...
Yeah itās brutal with two, but ours were 2 years apart so when the youngest was like 3 we got to get rid of most of that stuff. That was a happy day. š
A Civic is plenty big for two car seats, I just wouldnāt buy a car before I have the kids. It took 2 years to conceive our first.
thanks, will try to do some test driving when weāre home for a month this summer.
I canāt get excited about todayās BMWs for some reason, maybe a previous gen M3 or a previous gen M2c but my wife wouldnāt go for the combo of $50k+ and high maintenance.
thanks yeah I had two rear drive BMWs so I do like rear drive but never had an automatic rear drive car. 22 mpg is not bad, our Subaru Ascent got 19 mpg even on the highway. š
my kids are older so no car seats but legroom is an issue. Theyād hate no center arm rest though, thatās a pet peeve of...
Yes, but I wonder in Massachusetts if there's places to drive that will do justice to the FL5. If I lived in Switzerland or even Montana with mountain roads to drive on and few cars, it would be amazing. But a cruiser might suit where I live better. There's always a car in front of you, and in...
I'll say this about kids - don't buy a car before having kids thinking you'll know what you need. When the kids are babies you're going to have a bucketload of crap - portable bathtub, stroller, pack n play, high chair, diaper bag, god knows what else. You may think you'll be ok with a Civic...
in 18 months I'll need to buy a car, has to seat 4 and be fun to drive. We will also buy a 5 seat SUV so it won't be the primary car, just for picking up kids from school, going to sports etc. I expect the (field service) company to give me a company car, but if they give me a stipend...
