You can get better than this. Just buy a FK8 Type R or another 10th gen Civic. You'll save 10k at least.
Even for 5-7k more you get a more refined car/interior, rwd, more potent engine. Not saying CTR does not have its strengths but not a 50k plus car. Savegegeese said the same thing.
Btw I own a FK8 CTR which I love. Great car, bought at msrp (40k eur in Europe 2019). But I wouldn't have paid for...

Seeing it so frequently alongside(benchmarked against) the FK8 TypeR makes one think that they had a hard time making it more performant. Also afaik the last generation base hatch model is heavier.
There will be some improvements but I don't see a dramatic performance increment.
Perhaps you might want to check also failures on their 1 liter turbo gasoline engine. Not sold in US. There are pretty frequent failures of it.
Besides weak reliability the solution with belt in a oil slump makes it more difficult and expensive to service.
Base Civic xi is significantly heavier. It will be very hard to offset this disadvantage. Perhaps by some lightweight components and power bump. So the performance improvement will be minor.

Yes exhaust sounds def better, louder. However this can be a nuissance on long trips - like few hours. I made this year with my TypeR X two 10 hours trips on the highway 80 -90 mph 3000+ rpm 6th gear. Evem with this quiet exaust I can say that it was ok but boderline tiring driving all that time...

Now seriously if that's it and there is no significant performance improvement I'll stick to my FK8 CTR. I won't take a money loss, time loss (all improvements - ceramic, mud guards, door edge guards, dash cam) to start it over again. No thanks.

As others said: baby Accord, boring. From the front, the XI looks kind of goofy with those eyes and those mirrors like cartoon character ears. It def lost it's aggressiveness.

Seeing how the back-end is hanging it should be smth heavy like a battery pack and motors. Considering the upcoming moronic emissions regulations hybrid makes the most sense. They won't add mechanical RWD diff just for the handling. They'll go hybrid to target emissions also.
