Our photographer has just spied the Civic Type R prototype in Germany!

This is extremely exciting. The Type R is going to be its own car now. Fully seamless fender flares in the rear, ginormous fenders in the front, seemingly adjustable rear wing AND a continuation of the center exhaust? This car is going to have some road presence.

Those are some wide guards on the back of the car. This is going to look very planted and almost look AWD.
Hopefully the performance is there to back it up even though it is FWD

Those rear fenders are going to fit a 305. Calling it now
Looks like it’s on 245/35/19. 265/35/18 is already pushing it. I guess it’s possible with liners removed and the right wheels.

I don’t know if anyone caught this but the rear spoiler is adjustable. I believe it’s more manual then automatically adjustable.

I doubt Honda will have it like this in the finished product. It's too easy to unscrew and steal. My guess is that they have it like this in the photo because they're still tuning the the position of the wing (e.g. AOA, height). The finished product, for better or worse, will have a fixed piece like the current generation.

Honda will have to break a new 'ring FWD record for for this car and defeat the Megane. The longer wheel base will help stability at high speed corners for the 'ring, but it may translate into a kick-happy backend when hard braking on tighter twisties.

Pretty sure the wing, the wheels, exhaust, are all to be deceiving and won't be in the production car.

Germany? BOSCH ECU CONFIRMED
Watch the ECU will be locked like the A90 Supra LOL

Awesome post @ administrator, but just curious How do you know it's the Type-R and not perhaps the Si? I know it's a long shot but what if.... What if Honda decides to throw a curveball at the last millisecond and actually surprise United States with an Si trim hatchback?! I'd buy one one so fast!
Lol a wide body, huge winged, civic hatch Si… yea that’s not the Honda way. One can dream though.
I'd like an Si hatch, too!
Si has been confirmed to be a sedan ..... Stop getting everyone's hopes up LOL.

I was laughing at the person saying that was potentially an Si. It’s clearly a type r and Si would never come like that, it’s always been a dressed up ex trim not a full fledged wide body unit.

No wonder the spoiler looks weird, it's like 3" higher on the right side.

I have a big feeling that the little price increase they did for the 2021 CTR is the price they are going to put for the new CTR.
