It's like, 5-8 years ago, a Camry used to be $20k, a Civic was less than that, and everything we're talking about here could be had for under 25

Car prices will go up and there's nothing we can do to stop that. 2K increase for a redesign actually isn't too bad.
2022 Veloster N with DCT costs as much as CTR did in 2017. CTR's MSRP is at 38K now.
It's 2k and multiple features have been removed (heated seats, etc).

IMO the price is too high for what it is. It is almost as expensive as a GTI, WRX, GT-86, etc while offering noticeably less power and, most likely, performance.

Personally, I couldn't see buying this car at MSRP. Having said that, I wouldn't buy a 10th at MSRP either. You used to be able to get 10th gen SI's at invoice or less with very little trouble.

According to video by @unityperformance parts from tenth gen are readily swappable. Examples shown were bbk and radiator. Plus a Paragon bbk on one of the time attack cars at SEMA

That's a plus

The Si hasn't been under 20K MSRP since 2005.

That aren’t even in the same class.
Why would you pick that if you where in the market for a Si? Lol
Totally different cars in totally different classes. I guess might as well get a F150 too?
Never was. I haven't owned an Si since 2016 and that was a coupe. Would never own an Si sedan. Gotta get that midlife crisis car now. Honda has gone backwards with all their trims of Civic.

It seems like a lot of Honda enthusiasts are complaining about the 200HP.

Thats not under 20K. And really with how much better cars are now vs 2005, 8k more isnt really bad. Thats like $500/yr.
I'm not sure you read my entire comment. The $20k was speaking to getting a regular Camry/Civic, and I finished by saying "for under $25 you could get..."

To your point, yes, you are getting more car now for $28k than you were for $23k in 2015, and adjusting for inflation, $23k in 2015 is rougly $27k today, but a lot of people haven't seen their incomes grow by that amount in the same period, especially with the current trends
