This analysis seemed to miss that the type R is a Hot Hatch -- not targeted to a family car, The bonus is that it CAN be used as a family car/daily driver -- which is why i love it! But, that means the focus has to be on the design and the target audience of people who want to own and drive a PERFORMANCE hot hatch. In fact, while esthetically, i would like the back seats to match the front... since i DO use it for hauling passengers (including animals), i am HAPPY that i don't have to be constantly freaking out over high-end materials in the back.
BONUS - these not-so-upscale-looking seats in the back are Extremely comfortable! Thank you, Honda

Another high praise from Sam via "Seen Through Glass". This car is something, I was incredibly pleased with it when I test drove it the past 3 times. This is probably the next car I will own...eventually.

holy crap... I don't think i've ever seen someone drive this car so aggressively. I watched him downshift rather than apply brakes.... and he intentionally 'cut corners' with a car that is already throwing him around.
Wish i could have seen his +R panel.

Here is my Youtube video of my first week of Type R ownership. I started a car review channel called Cool Car Crap Car with my two kids last year. We test cars and then determine if they are cool or crap and worth buying. I usually have more reliability and comparison car information on my episodes, sort of Doug Demuro and Consumer reports had a baby... . My son will join me at the 1000 km update as we rip through the gears! As they say Like and subscribe!

He drives in the 24hr LeMans at Nurburgring. Probably was bored driving the Type R.

Most would agree that the Civic is better but the reality is you aren't getting one of MSRP easily so these comparisons are basically fantasy
