the recall notice says 2025 are included.

per NHTSA recall report

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCLRPT-24V744-4093.PDF

I know that cars manufactured after September 2024 are not affected, yet there are no VIN numbers in the report.

another thread here has the first few 2025 VIN numbers

https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threa...-r-fl5-shipments-from-japan.54443/post-905613

I checked the first one

https://owners.honda.com/service-maintenance/recalls?id=JHMFL5G40SX000001

and it says no current recalls. I check few other VINs with same result

does this mean that no 2025 are affected by the recall?

or is the Honda recalls data not up to date?

I am looking to purchase a 2025 and want to avoid a car that was or will be recalled.

Cronus Leader (carrying VINs 0615 to 1038) departed Hueneme a few days ago

and one of these VINs is headed to a dealership near me (I checked and the Honda page sas no current recalls for that specific VIN)

I no longer trust dealerships to perform recalls (or any other repairs) correctly

my '07 FA5 was recalled for second gear synchro, yet I was still having occasional issues with the transmission which got worse over time. I attributed it to my shifting skills (lack thereof), thinking that I managed to mess up the synchro again.

at 120K miles the clutch started slipping and took it to a transmission specialist to put in a new clutch and new synchro. when he dropped the transmission he found out that when the dealership put the gearbox back together, they put the last gear backwards and it started to bore a hole through the transmission case... dealership refused to acknowledge they did anything wrong, giving all kinds of excuses: "no way it was put in backwards", "we don't believe the guy", etc. etc. etc. ended up paying for everything out of pocket...

There has been reports of people not being able to take their new 2025s home from dealer until dealer got the parts to do the recall

This. I am still waiting for my dealer to get parts so I can take delivery of a 2025.

I have a 2025 inbound (from that same shipment) to a local dealer and the VIN is not showing as affected on the recall checker site. I'm supposed to have the car within 2 weeks so we'll see what happens.

2025 models are affected but only if they were manufactured before August 22,2024. After that they already got the update. Dealers have a stop sale on all affected cars so they relatively can’t be released until they’ve been fixed since it’s a safety issue.

From what I now understand, if a dealership fixes the car before they sell it, then there are

0 Unrepaired Recalls associated with this VIN

which makes it all the more difficult to find out if an unsold car was subjected to the recall using the VIN

is there anyway to find out when a specific VIN was manufactured?

or do I have to call the dealership and check the build date?

btw, NHTSA report says Aug 29, not Aug 22, 2024

I think I am starting to experience the issue. On small adjustments to the steering wheel feels like the wheels slide as opposed to a smooth turn. Hasn't felt difficult to turn the wheel more lacking a smoothness to the turning on small adjustments. I reached out to my service dept to see if they have done any repairs yet. I can wait it out a bit until the techs get more experience with this repair.

From what it states happens leading to it, it sounds like it's milage / usage dependent as the issue gets worse until it shows itself.

What I do not understand is why they are not replacing the defective "improperly produced" worm wheel. apparently it was not properly annealed.
