This comment seems to cement it a bit for me:

I worked from the Yorii plant for two weeks this past summer and was also flatly told that 2025 was the last year for the FL5. People here will still dispute it though. ITS will probably live on for another year or two.

I don’t want to dox myself, as my company still contracts with Honda, but 2025 is the last MY worldwide for the FL5 platform. ITS may still continue, not sure on that. These were literally lead designers and engineers that I was speaking to.

well clock is ticking. We should have a definitive answer within 3-4 months max I would think. Maybe sooner with this information “leaking”

All I know is that one side of this argument is going to look very silly. Just a matter of which one 😂

As others have stated - I don't think Honda typically announces when they retire something. I think the most logical is a late sendoff with Phoenix Yellow LE versions later this year as a 2025 MY.

I do feel like we would have seen something about a facelift by now if that was happening.

I mean
those taking a hard stance one way or the other are already silly, right? Maybe some random people consider themselves upper management at Honda Corporate?đŸ€Ł

Do we know whe the last call was given for the FK8? I assume it just coincided with the shutdown of of the Swinden plant in the UK.

Yeah, that’s true! Good points.
If a facelift were to happen, it’d be coming this summer (following historical patterns), in which case, yeah I agree that pics or clues of upcoming changes would’ve leaked by now.

I don’t subscribe to the idea that 2025 (or 2026) will mark the end of FL5 production—especially if this claim comes from the manufacturer or someone claiming to have ‘inside knowledge.’ Plus, I haven’t gotten mine yet, so obviously, I must be right

Seriously though, manufacturers like Honda and Toyota have a history of making statements that don’t hold up. Take Toyota, for example: they initially claimed they would produce only 25k units of the GR Yaris for homologation purposes. For years, they pushed this narrative, citing material shortages and supply chain issues, creating artificial scarcity and driving demand into a frenzy. Then, without warning, they release a facelifted version, and production continues with no clear end in sight.

Yes, noise and emissions regulations are tightening, but it’s clear that many countries are pushing back against the rapid transition to EVs and extending ICE deadlines. This is especially true in the US, where the political landscape is shifting once again.

Right, lead engineers are going to tell some intern this, which probably wasn't even decided yet last summer.

I don’t think you’re in the minority though. Anyone that doesn’t have one or plans to buy one is going to be on the side of there being a 2026+ and then you’ll have the reverse on the other side (with exceptions of course). Copium if you will 😂
