I mean it makes sense.
Wet cementâŠuntil we get official info from Honda Corporate. This comment seems to cement it a bit for me:
I worked from the Yorii plant for two weeks this past summer and was also flatly told that 2025 was the last year for the FL5. People here will still dispute it though. ITS will probably live on for another year or two.
I donât want to dox myself, as my company still contracts with Honda, but 2025 is the last MY worldwide for the FL5 platform. ITS may still continue, not sure on that. These were literally lead designers and engineers that I was speaking to.
well clock is ticking. We should have a definitive answer within 3-4 months max I would think. Maybe sooner with this information âleakingâWet cementâŠuntil we get official info from Honda Corporate.
As others have stated - I don't think Honda typically announces when they retire something. I think the most logical is a late sendoff with Phoenix Yellow LE versions later this year as a 2025 MY.Wet cementâŠuntil we get official info from Honda Corporate.
I meanâŠthose taking a hard stance one way or the other are already silly, right? Maybe some random people consider themselves upper management at Honda Corporate?well clock is ticking. All I know is that one side of this argument is going to look very silly. Just a matter of which one

Yeah, thatâs true! Good points. As others have stated - I don't think Honda typically announces when the retire something. I think the most logical is a late sendoff with Pheonix Yellow LE versions later this year as a 2025 MY.
I do feel like we would have seen something about a facelift by now if that was happening.
The new 3.0L that debuted in 2020?I heard the 2026 ITS will get the new 3.0 from the MDX Type S and SH-AWD.
Right, lead engineers are going to tell some intern this, which probably wasn't even decided yet last summer. This comment seems to cement it a bit for me:

I donât think youâre in the minority though. Anyone that doesnât have one or plans to buy one is going to be on the side of there being a 2026+ and then youâll have the reverse on the other side (with exceptions of course). Copium if you willI donât subscribe to the idea that 2025 (or 2026) will mark the end of FL5 productionâespecially if this claim comes from the manufacturer or someone claiming to have âinside knowledge.â Plus, I havenât gotten mine yet, so obviously, I must be rightâŠ
Seriously though, manufacturers like Honda and Toyota have a history of making statements that donât hold up. Take Toyota, for example: they initially claimed they would produce only 25k units of the GR Yaris for homologation purposes. For years, they pushed this narrative, citing material shortages and supply chain issues, creating artificial scarcity and driving demand into a frenzy. Then, without warning, they release a facelifted version, and production continues with no clear end in sight.
Yes, noise and emissions regulations are tightening, but itâs clear that many countries are pushing back against the rapid transition to EVs and extending ICE deadlines. This is especially true in the US, where the political landscape is shifting once again.
